Could Cadel Evans create history

Tomorrow night could be the night that Cadel sets up our first ever Tour de France winner He is 50 seconds behind with his strength a time trial tomorrow and then the run to Paris . Would be great to see after a magnificent Tigers victory
 
He has to run down the yellow jersey wearer, who has 57 seconds up on him… it'll be very tough, but he can do it. He does have a lot of riding in his legs though... Then again, Schleck has been in the breakaways of the two hardest stages over the last two days and Evans rested through large portions of both stages. I'd back him in.
 
Cadel is a FAR superior Time Trialist so I'll back him in chasing Schelk, if he was chasing Contador it Would be a very very different story.
 
What he did last night was out a movie script….with his bike breaking down, losing 55 seconds or so, ditching it and jumping on a fresh bike and fighting his way through the pack, to be just behind the Schleck brothers.

With being a better time triallist than Andy and Frank Schleck. , I am hoping he creates history tomorrow night and become Australia's first Tour De France champion.
 
fingers crossed for cadel tonight. this a true champ in every sense. the way he fought back last night was fantastic to watch, off his own bat with little or no assistance from his other team riders ( most of which are not climbers ) was the stuff of real guts and determination. if ever i've seen a sportsman deserve to win any event this is it. for anyone who is not a follower of the tour, tonight could be really special viewing.

( i wonder if cadel follows the weststigers ? )

He was very strong last night chasing down Schleck and Contador basically on his own. He's near enough if he's in good enough form and he looks the best he's ever looked at the TDF. I'm not sure either of the Schlecks have much left in the tank
 
to me and im no expert on cycling expert, frank schleck is just about out of juice and maybe andy might be feeling the pinch as well after his last two days in the alps.
 
Cadel has been the strongest rider for the past 3 weeks in the tour… His efforts over the last 2 nights have shown he still has good legs and if he wakes on Saturday feeling good, he will be wearing Yellow.

This is a great sporting accomplishment which will be as big as when Australia won the Americas Cup... Have a little nanny nap after the Tigers victory, and make sure you set your alarms for approx 12am to see Cadel and cheer him home!!!

Don't right off Contador just yet There is a climb in the middle of the Time trial he is the best climber in the world . C'mon Cadel create history
 
Congratulations to Cadel Evans after creating a 1.34 minute lead leading into the final stage of Tour de France Barring an accident he will win the Tour First Australian to do so
 
i know this might be a big call to some …. but imo cadel's winning arguably the most grueling sporting event on the planet, must surely put him up as one of the greatest ever oz sportsperson. if he was a european he would now be an absolute hero and superstar.

What a legend. I believe only the 3rd rider outside Europe to win Le Tour. Amazing achievement. Well done to Cadel and his BMC team that was able to support him.
 
He just won the hardest, longest, biggest sporting event in the world. He's the greatest Australian sportsman of all time in my eyes.
 
Unless somehow the Wallabies manage to win World Cup (or the Tigers the NRL premiership)This will be the greatest sporting achievement of any Australian this year Especially by an individual . He is also the oldest in 88 years to win it . We dip our lids to you Cadel
 
Brilliant ride from Cadel last night, just watching him chew up Schleck's lead and then create a 94 second lead of his own…wow, simply brilliant ride and congrats to him on being the first Australian to win the Tour De France.
