Hopefully they see us as an easy win and keep Thurston out for another week. I'm not sure how well we will contain their forwards this is a massive test for our forward pack this week.

I think Thurston will play, they really can't afford to lose or they might put their top 4 hopes in jeopardy, or maybe they think we are not much of a challenge, but I think the former.

Morgan and Thompson are still a good halves combo. Our right edge defence needs to get their coordination right. Regardless of who plays for them it's going to be a significant step up from St George-Illawarra and Parramatta.

We need to make sure Taumalolo doesn't get the chance to isolate Moses. Someone needs to put a big hit on him early to rattle his confidence a bit. I vote Sue.

I second that Vote…

Big test for our Pack....

That is an awesome backrow. I find it hard to hate the Cowboys. The only thing was the grub Watts starting something in the scrum at LO 7 years ago. Other than that ..I have nothing. I'm glad we came up against them in 05.

I reckon the game plan is simple "attack is the best defence"

If we engage them in stopping us they wont have much of a chance to threaten us.
Basically taking their strength away

Containing their forward pack will be key. Need to get up off the line quickly and pressure Tamou, Scott and Taumaulolo, give them no room and pressure the halves all day. We have the structure to trouble them but need to complete and kick/chase well.

i think Thurston will play and whoever goes to marker needs to be very alert because Granville is very dangerous

Their pack is pretty awesome isn't it.

To top that off Granville is pretty sharp out of dummy half

Always hustling

Our dummy half is pretty sharp too… well, maybe one of them will get past being completely blunt.

Thurston expected to take on Tigers

Jonathan Thurston appears likely to be passed fit to take on Wests Tigers on Sunday with Jason Taylor saying he expects the champion halfback to run out at Leichhardt Oval.

Thurston missed the Cowboys' last start NRL loss to Melbourne with a hamstring injury but trained with the side during Friday's captain's run.

The four-time Dally M winner was originally slated to miss two to three weeks but warmed up and nearly ran out against the Storm, leading Tigers coach Taylor to believe he would return on Sunday.

"If it was right that he almost played last weekend, there's no reason that they wouldn't play him," Taylor said.

"I'm sure that he's at the point now where he's 100 per cent. We're expecting him to be here."

Thurston and the Cowboys have a surprisingly poor record against the Tigers, given their dominance of the NRL over the last few years.

The Townsville side have won just one of eight matches at Leichhardt while Thurston has lost 11 of 11 games against the Tigers played in Sydney - including the 2005 grand final.

Thurston was not named, with Ray Thompson pencilled in at halfback, and Taylor warned the Cowboys shaped as a daunting prospect even without him.

He pointed to their gutsy effort to push the Storm 18-6 last week and said they had evolved to be more than just a one-club player.

"The Cowboys are not a team that's based around one player now," Taylor said.

"We've spent this week looking at all their players from their hooker (Jake Granville) and their fullback (Lachlan Coote), in particular those guys are really hard to stop.

"There's plenty of others there too."

I vote for a Mack truck, but I guess Sue will have to suffice

why are the tigers $3 to win?

Because Brooks is out? Moses and Tedesco play better (arguably with Brooks out)

Possibly the Leichhardt factor …. If it was in Townsville you could probably double that quote.
