Crazy enough to work?

Lets face it, we are not making the finals this year and if we do then we will be bundled out in the first round so…Lets plan for next year.

- Lets say Woods, Tedesco and Moses have a combined salary this year of 1.5million [The numbers don't matter for the thought experiment]
- Parra, Dogs and Roosters are contending for the finals this year and desperate for our players
- Lets release them this year to those clubs and continue to pay their full salary
- In return the Parra, Dogs and Roosters all owe us a player next year and pay 500k each for their salaries
- The key feature of this deal is that in 2018, we have an extra 1.5mill added to our salary cap payed out of three clubs we will be contending with for the premiership

Thoughts?

its not the craziest thing I've heard….and has some merrit for 2018.

Promote a young prop, watson heleta and say hunt.......couldn't do any worse than we are ATM....may een win the odd game.

If you expect another club to honour an agreement like that you are dreaming. WT would end up with the dregs.

I am sure there would be a way of making it happen… I am just trying to think of a way to make this contract saga work in our favour. Do you have any other thoughts?

Yes let's engage in collusion to rort the salary cap, at least that way the clubs dumb enough to collude with us will have to share our wooden spoon. An excellent idea.

Won't happen I'm afraid.
