Haddin must be feeling vastly underrated this morning

He was on of our best in England and has been close to our best again back in Australia

Just goes to show five games can win you an AB medal. Johnson's bowling would have been irrelevant if Haddin didn't rescue virtually every Australian first innings.

Shaun Marsh: 85 First Class games for 8 centuries and an average of 35
Since being dropped from the Test side after the home series v India (in which he scored 17 runs in 6 innings at 2.83) he has scored 1 century and this summer averages 34.37\. 1 first class century in 2 seasons.

And he gets a Test call up. Based on that.

He is a koala.

Rubbish hey? I'd have a tried and proven failure in Hughes or North before Darsh.

Haha, Darsh. Classic South Park.
I don't mind giving someone who has failed previously another crack if they are performing now.
But to give a failure a call up when after being dropped he continued to fail is a head scratching decision. But then he will probably go over, score 700 at 180, and add to the Boof Legend.

I'm still trying to work this out

Clark gets Test player of the year

Johnson , who basically does little bar the five Tests in Australia wins the Allan Border medal

How can this be ??

Shouldn't have Johnson won both awards if he did so well in the 5 Tests

I shouldn't say this seeing people bet on this , but it has to be rigged or in their contracts that they win an award at the ABM night 😱pen_mouth:

Johnson also played one-dayers in England and possibly India.
He may have just missed out on the test player by a point.

Rogers siddle and smith were all in front of johno and hads for the test match gong.
Haddin was 5th in line iirc.

As for AB medal, Faulkner, Bailey and Johnson were the reasons for Australia doing half decent in the Indian one dayer.

People like Watson Warner Johnson and smith are more likely to win AB medal coz they poll points from all three formats whereas Clarke Rogers siddle mainly from tests.

For me I thought smith performed exceptional in whatever format wherever he was put. I very very underestimated this guy.

I read the other day that Smith hasn't played a ODI in over a year and a 20/20 even longer. With Maxwell, Clarke, Bailey, Voges, White and the numerous other players who can bat and bowl a bit, Smith seems to be missing out on the shorter formats at the moment.

Really? I think I might've been thinking of ryobi cup when I said that.

If he's to be groomed as the next captain , he certainly needs to be around the team more.

It was strange he wasn't selected considering he, Warner and White were up there in the best performing players in the Ryobi Cup.

The Poms again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even after Root and Morgan were out (throw in Butler) they were in the box seat to win that game, yet stupid play cost them. The Bresnan run out was a stupid run that they didn't need to go for, although the Bopara "stumping" was incredibly unlucky.

I haven't seen a ball of the last two ODI's just being busy, but it seems like tonight's was another one of those quality games.
