@ said:Australian cricket needed that kind of result to revive the image of the team. Plenty of grit and character shown.
@ said:when is Smith and Warner back
@ said:Warner won't be back. I think there's been comments saying he'll be in the mix but if he's poison with the playing group he will not be back. I think they are hedging their bets that the next big thing will present themselves, a big ask given CA has destroyed our domestic long format competition.
@ said:Domestic set up has declined - 100% agree. I also think the introduction of 20/20 is now leading to the development of batsmen with poor defensive technique and too many medium pace trundlers who just put the ball on the spot.

20/20 cricket is not providing young players withe the foundation they need for the longer form of the game. Young players are so drawn to it that I worry about what test cricket will look like in 5 - 10 years as the players who have grown up with 20/20 as the focal point start to come into senior teams.

You’ve got to keep selling test cricket. My kids (17 and 20) love test cricket. My youngest was on edge earlier today watching Lyon’s great spell. The theatre at the end of the last test was better than any boring bash fest!

I'm 100% with you. There is nothing like test cricket it is the greatest game in the world. 5 days of drama where one short period can change the direction of a match and that can happen multiple times in a match. Glad to hear the young ones are still engaged by test cricket.
