Cricket Season Thread

As bad as this tastes in my mouth ....amazing batting performance by the Rest of the World side v Pakistan scoring 500 in a day for only the 2nd time in Test history ...scary thing ...they lost 15 overs to bad light ....also 1st time a side has had 4 batters score a 100 in a single day

Now we just need Pakistan to win in 4 days lol

Played and followed cricket all my life, sad state when I have given up watching it, might say I have taken a knee on their ridiculous wokeism

The knee doesn’t bother me. The fact we’ve already had meaningless series against Zimbabwe, England (twice), India and the West Indies plus the T20 World Cup from September til now does. Throw in a poor performance opponent and the ease of watching on tv and it’s not surprising.

I've just started watching cricket again and I was wondering who you guys think are our best Captains are. I notice in a recent the limited over stuff Hazelwood had a shot as well. Now Cummings is Captain in the test side.
Smith surely has served his penalty and would be our long term captain wouldn't he, thoughts?

Only one reason anyone gets triggered from a bunch of players taking the knee. Seen a heap of English supporters online claiming they won't watch their team in the World Cup because they do the same... please, just admit it.

Cummings has done a great job as Test captain. His decision making and use of the bowlers has been first class.

From a bowling perspective that sounds about right heh.
So you think he'll be a long term (C)
Yep. He’ll be long term Test captain.
I’m not sure who will be the T20 captain , the side needs to reinvent itself. A few of the elders will now step aside and give the younger guys ago.

Yep good stuff.
Hazelwood was given a go in limited overs. 20/20 is all out attack and appears to suit the aggressive bowler Captain whereas test cricket it's all about grinding out a win sometimes winning in the last session. Would that be a reasonable observation?

Top 5 scores across both teams in the England v Pakistan test:

122, 107, 108, 23, 153, 114, 121, 27, 102*, 35*

Road…

I think most people dont have a problem with it...I dont even though I dont like politics getting dragged into sport
Theres just too much and varying forms of cricket now...

But I think were getting off topic

He goes alright on the field.
Off it he is way out of his depth and making a bad name for himself.
Not a good long term prospect until he realises exactly what the job entails.
