I think there are a lot more suitable causes to throw a million dollars at than a meaningless ODI that no one will remember in a week.Is it your money Debbie?

Don’t disagree, but he still is miles in front of e everyone except Head. Sadly we need two openers and a no3. If Smith actually walked to the crease at 2 for 180 instead of 2 for 20 every test his scores maybe more like the old daysSmith is on the decline. When was his last hundred?
When we won our 6th World Cup in Nov 23 beating India in the final in IndiaI think there are a lot more suitable causes to throw a million dollars at than a meaningless ODI that no one will remember in a week.
Like what? I can’t see it getting off the ground but they would be trying to reduce their losses.I think there are a lot more suitable causes to throw a million dollars at than a meaningless ODI that no one will remember in a week.
Todd Greenberg is ropable. Also to my previous point, it helps to protect the value of a test match ticket. Day 3 tickets could suddenly be hard to sell…this is not good for test match cricket.
Of course. I reckon the ABC radio idea was a plant to test public sentiment. This is a serious issue. People have paid big money, travelled large distances and taken time off work and family to watch day 3.Todd Greenberg is ropable.
They’ve helped fester the monster that is 20/20. Which in turn has put players in a constant 20/20 mindset. It’s going to get worse before it gets better.Of course. He actually had a very good start to the year belting 4 centuries in 5 tests. Been pretty lean since February though, and quiet this series. He got one this year if my memory is correct
I have a day four ticket going cheap? Also to my previous point, it helps to protect the value of a test match ticket. Day 3 tickets could suddenly be hard to sell…this is not good for test match cricket.

Even 4 days is a loss of revenue though.Don’t disagree.
You said a million is a waste. I countered with a reason why it’s not a waste.
20/20 and tests are two different high value yet overlapping markets. Both have a place.
My possible solition is 4 day tests.
My son was given tickets to the fourth day for Christmas, okay he gets a refund, but what about the airfare from Sydney to Melbourne return. I guess with the NRL you know your game will start and finish as per schedule, cricket these days is a lottery. Of course the trouble is,the curators will now be put under pressure to produce 20/20 style flat tracks in order to get games to go the distance. Personally I love seeing the bowlers get a track in their favour for once, but the batsmen today bat on roads, so when they get something other than a road they struggle big time
Big disagree.Even 4 days is a loss of revenue though.
Cost me about $4k all up last year for one day at the cricket. Includes travel, accomm, food, massages, etc. for two. From a spectator POV, you’d also be filthy about getting a refund. It’s Boxing Day. Good chance thousands of people would make plans to travel from all around the country. Especially being The Ashes.
How many massages BF ?Cost me about $4k all up last year for one day at the cricket. Includes travel, accomm, food, massages, etc. for two.
Unless I win at cards or roulette, which I do.
