LOL Glen love it

Look in this day and age I don't even understand why we need such a large squad Take 14 over with one extra specialist batsman ,one extra spinner and extra quickie

We can rush anyone extra over within 48 hours anyway

If you want to take extras over ,do what we do with the Davis Cup squad and take one or two promising juniors over and get them used to touring in a foreign country ,at least that way they know for in the future what touring is all about

Someone like Khawaja would be far better off staying in Australia getting more cricket into him , not listening to his I Pod in India and running the drinks out

Essay writing should certainly sharpen the boys up for the coming tests.
Bit rough dropping the 4 lads who didn't get their tomes in on time. Word from the camp is that Phil Hughes was hogging the crayons.

Does 'CA' stand for 'Circus Australia'?

This is an out and out joke.

Call me a radical, but given the performances of the team of late, these blokes should be in the nets, not writing essays on their value to the team.

You'd think so. Johnson and Khawaja didn't even play in the test so I'm not sure what the hell Arthur was hoping to get from them… An essay on how the cordial was mixed incorrectly for the drinks? He's gone troppo - **if he hasn't lost the respect of the team he's fast on the way to doing so.** I hear Shane Watson had a hissyfit and is coming home.

I'd say Arthur & Pup have lost the dressing room….or half of it.

Clarke sounds like he speaks for CA rather than the team....rock & a hard place I know but he has had plenty of personality clashes in the past....he's lucky he's killing it with the bat

I'd never take anything away from his cricketing ability but the guy is an arse licking CA yes man. Always has been, always will be

Yeah , but apart from Tubby and AB who wasn't of the last few captains GNR ??

Its his whole demeanor. He comes across as Ritchie Cunningham

Yeah agree , but he did stick up for his mate Warney in face of some cross fire from CA

Bet he is a fan of Moltzen's as well :rant

I'm not even happy with the way our top 4 is setup

Phil Hughes at 4 ,surely not

1 Cowan
2 Warner
3 Hughes
4 Watson /Clarke
5 Clarke / Watson

Bugger me dead ,I've worked it out

Sheens is Australian Cricket Coach

Guess we can rule that out now ,Watson would of needed to break both legs ,gone blind, got 15 golden ducks, dropped 8 catches in a game and pissed in the middle of the MCG on day 1 of an Ashes Test to have even considered getting dropped if Sheens was coach

Honestly this whole situation is farcical. The task is ridiculous but in all honesty it would have taken a few minutes to complete, yet some guys just couldn't be bothered. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can start going up again, hopefully this is that moment. The players should realise that a lack of professionalism will not be tolerated and they can all knuckle down ahead of the Ashes.

Also, props to Patto, the youngster showing the vice captain how to handle an axing.

Day 1 washed out. It's probably one of the better days on the tour this side has had.

Don't get too excited Allan ,this side could easily still lose in 4 days ,especially if Clarke doesn't get runs

Absolutely. I bet if you asked the whole Aussie cricket team in private what they thought of Clarke, nearly all would tell you what a wanker he is. He seems like the type of "man" that would throw any of his teammates under the bus to save his own arse. No wonder Katich wanted to throttle him, I would do the same.

I think after today we might need another day washed out to save us. It is turning more embarassing then when India toured here, and what's more it feels like this tour has taken away everything that we have gained over the last 2 years. In particular when India toured here 12 months ago.

Don't know Jazza ,reckon we might eck out a draw

Don't deserve to though

how good is this bloke batting. 33 fours.. all bar a couple along the ground.. didnt loft a single ball until he got to 100.. didnt give the aussies a single chance

LOL at gambhir couple of months ago : "sehwag and i are the best opening partnership india have at the moment"

India will go very close to winning me thinks. They bat majority of the day tomorrow at the same rate, they'll get somewhere between 150-200 in front, then the pressure once again will fall on the Aussies

Barely hanging on in this 3rd Test. Hughes has to go on with the start. The bloke hasn't handled India very well but I think he'll be a key against England.

Well it is all down to these two, Starc and Haddin. They probably need to bat until sometime close to tea and get a lead of about 160-170, that would mean India would have to score at about 5.5 an over to win. I must say, why does Siddle come in ahead of Starc? Sure he isnt the worst tailender but number 8 is a bit too high for him I think.

A disappointing loss but India is a tough place to play in. Hopefully this result will lead to younger aged and Australia A teams to travel the sub-continent more often. It's quite clear the lack of experience of our players on these pitches has affected how we have gone this series.

I think the problem here is we have no good spinners. The sub-continent is all about playing spin. We have no good spinners in our ranks therefore our squad gets little exposure to good spin bowling whilst playing in Australia, and as a result are not great against spin. India on the other hand have plenty of quality spinners and are great at playing spin. Our spin stocks have been shocking since Warne and MacGill both retired in quick succession.
