Wow !!! i'll drink whatever your drinking  . Would love for that to happen , but doubt it , Alistar Cook is gonna have a field day with us I fear .

Excluding the sacking of the coach, this has been one of the best preparations by an Australian team in recent years. The whole squad has practically been playing in England for the past two months in either county cricket or on the A tour. This is completely different to previous tours where the team arrived two weeks before the first test.

Australia not as weak as stated, England not a strong as stated.

Pattinson and Starc are close to the most lethal combination in world cricket and are at the precipice of their prime. This will be the watershed tour. I think this is also the time for Lyon to arrive on the big stage.

The batsmen just need to score 300 or so per innings. The bowlers will do the rest.

I'll see your Pattinson and Starc and raise you Steyn and Philander, or Steyn and Morkel. Take your pick

as many said, england is not as good and australia is not as bad

is it just me or does anyone else doubt clarke as a captain? i personally think he's not smart enough to be the captain at test and esp. ODI levels. i reckon watson would do a much much better job if he tries 100%

Poms - 3
Us - 1

Might give them a few good scares and show a few vital signs of improvement, but I think the English will be better prepared mentally and will still be too good.

Watson, Rogers, Cowan, Clarke, Hughes, Smith, Haddin, Siddle, Pattinson, Starc, Agar.

A couple of surprises. Here's hoping we beat those bloody Poms.

geee i love steven smith but srsly wtf?

He's a great player of spin and Swann will bowling a fair few overs.
I'm surprised they went with Siddle. Agar has out bowled Lyon so no real surprise there as well as many English right hand batsman but Siddle has been the poorest bowler on the tour so far.

It doesn't look a very English pitch. I think it will break up pretty bad come day 4 judging by the foot marks after 10 overs.

Need to get Trott early!! He is dangerous..
They (ENGLAND) look a better bowling side than batting side to me?

It's going to be an absolute mess by the end of the 3rd day

i dont think his footwork is good enough against quality spinners like swann.

agree with GNR, we aint bowling so welll-'twas a poor shot from cook

rather than the traditional, bowl top of off, i think the aussies have a game plan to mix it up and try and keep the batsmen guessing i think

Bowling isn't crash hot but still, putting the batsman in a mindset to play a poor shot is a spot of good bowling.

Agar looked the goods for a 19yr old, some nervous balls but saw some good drift and nice flight.. Gotta remember we will never see a Shane Warne ever again haha.

Stark looked out of sorts on a pitch I thought he would go good in.. All in all it's pretty even I'd say, we need to fire this next session and get trot out!

Sidds gets a second, 3/102 just after lunch. Trott and Bell at the crease now, BIG partnership here, if we can break it up quickly then we could potentially roll them very cheaply as there isn't much batting to come after it. If we let them get going these 2 can put England in a commanding position.

if we can get Bell and Bairstow we are into the tail. But they do have Prior who is very good when he is on and Swann is half decent with the bat as well. but i think if we get them to 6 or 7 for 175-200 we can get them below 250
