Poms have a strong tail ,time to take Agar off and go for the kill

bring Watson on

Agar hasn't really done anything with the ball. Broad and Swann can bat so we need to finish them off quickly here

Siddle bowled extremely well after his not so great first spell. The bowlers did a good job.

After looking really good; Watson gets a good ball and Cowan gets overawed by the occasion next ball. Clarke is lucky to survive the hatrick ball.

The occasion is getting to almost everyone. Haha

How good a bowler is Anderson. Pure class is his swing bowling. That ball that got Clarke was an absolute gem and it wasn't the only one he's bowled.

I must agree, the ball that got Clarke was a ripper, I felt sorry for Rogers with the decision he copped. I have the Poms slightly ahead @ the moment.

Has anyone heard what was wrong with Cowan , he was off at least 3 times yesterday

pretty sure it was a stomach bug

and Starc should never have been picked over Harris or even Bird, just doesn't have the consistency yet of a quality test bowler, always looking to take a wicket with every ball which means he ends up chopping and changing his length and coming around the wicket. Hardly ever takes a wicket in his first few spells either, even after he bowled like shit in the first session you just knew he was going to come back and knock over a few late ones and hold his place for the next test.

Khawaja for Cowan needs to happen soon also if Cowan doesn't make runs

They love Starc for his ability to bowl yorkers and demolish the tail. He was unlucky to not get Cook in his first spell though he was inconsistent. In saying that too Pattinson wasn't much better and Siddles first spell was rubbish.

Cowan is doing something right but the circumstances got to him real bad. They got to Clarke too next ball but he was lucky enough to miss it.
I would be bringing Khawaja in for Cowan. I don't think Cowan can get the bigger scores as often as Khawaja and that's a big factor in why Cowan is always struggling to cement a spot. Not enough big scores.

I have England just in front at the moment. Smith has looked the best after Trott though and Hughes looked solid too. If we can get a lead of over 50 I'd have us ahead. This pitch will be easier to bat on day 2 but will start to deteriorate day 3 and day 4 & 5 will be very tough.

Phil Hughes ,is he the worst left hander when they bowl on his pads since Kepler Wessels

As a leftie myself used to love it which they pitched leg , but Hughes can't seem to knock it off the pitch and when he does find the middle he seems to always find square leg

Strange for a leftie that for sure ,can't remember any other left handlers that were weak off their pads bar Wessels

Seems to be doing alright at this point Happy, says more about the Poms than him.

Have to say I'm enjoying the posts on Facebook from my mates lauding Agar for his knock when only yesterday they were demanding he be dumped.

Still don't know why Haddin was brought out of mothballs.

didnt see smith play.. scored a 50 yet im not convinced, what did other people think?

i'll eat my words if most people say he was good

Agar your a FREAK !!!! what an outstanding knock even Phill Hughes was finding it hard to give him the Strikers end when he 1st came on to the crease , then Hughes was trying to push for singles to give Agar strike lol .
This partnership has been the difference between an unlikely win . GO AUSSIES!!!

I reckon our bowlers will be in for a real tough slog. Definitely a batsmans pitch.

Disagree… the ball is moving of the seem already on day 2 . This has been 1 knock from Agar , it's cause he's not afraid to attack the bowlers.
Lack of respect from the Poms with there field placements with the tail ender, even there surprised
