If we get beaten in this Test, I'm proposing the following for the next match:

1\. Coulter-Nile
2\. Cutting
3\. Agar
4\. Bollinger
5\. Smith
6\. Faulkner
7\. Haddin
8\. Johnson
9\. Siddle
10\. Harris
11\. Lyon

Seeing as it always falls upon our lower order to drag us kicking and screaming to a target that is moderately defendable, I figure we stack the team with bowlers. No problems taking 20 wickets, and this lot would probably score 400 between them every innings.

clarke only scored 3 doubles and a triple last year in Australia and he is already gone from the team ?? Also australia are in a good position here. England 2/55 at lunch on day 2

I see the sarcasm in my post is lost on you…

Considering this is a batsmans pitch, the bowlers are doing awfully well on it. Could well see 15 wickets taken on it today at the rate the English are collapsing and if our top order falls apart (if we don't enforce the follow on.)

It was England's day but I never think much of a first innings until both teams have batted on it.

It was a highway in the last session

It's a highway still , just an Iraqi highway , full of landmines and English disaster

5 for 7 Bloody amazing

Make that 6/11 Do we enforce the follow on if able ?

As I said, wait till both teams have batted before judging a pitch.
And I don't think this pitch is such a highway. When bowling in good areas, the batsman are finding it really tough to score. I think defensive fields and batting has contributed to it, but there's still some pace and a touch of bounce if you get it in the right areas.

Agreed, it's only day 3 and we're almost at a point where England can't win unless we do something stupid. I'd bat till lunch tomorrow, giving us 5 sessions to finish them off in a situation where they can't win.

England require 540+ runs with 8 wickets to go in late day 3.

The Aussies have performed so very well. Here's hoping they can continue this into day 4 and wrap this match up. An excellent way to start what will be an absorbing series.

**what do you think about chris rogers? he's played a couple of good games in the ashes- is he the falvour of te month as well?**

what about warner? 6 months ago he probably required mental therapy and now he's opening for us again coz of a couple of hundereds

just coz you fail in your first couple of tests doesn't mean you were just the flavour of the month.
it's not the public who put the players above what they are- it's the CA.

idk how many times someone has said this- but pick a couple of players with good mental toughness and a strong technique for at least 10 tests ducks or hundered- then assess him.

rob quiney, shaun marsh, mcdonald etc.. they all got maybe 3 or 4 games and when they didnt perform, they got kicked out.

india is not the best administrative country in the world but look at how they went about with rohit sharma. thay guy deadset couldnt score 10 runs to save his life and he is now scorring 100s at will- albeit in home conditions.

warner has been lucky in that he has gotten a lot of chances and he's taken them. same liberty needs to be spanned across to all the players.

I've read several posts from people on social media saying he should be dropped which illustrates my point. Laughable

I am eating pie as well Happy. I am usually an optimistic poster when talking about australian cricket but joined the pessimists after that collapse on day 1\. So happy with the boys superb effort ever since though. Lets finish these blokes off with a 400+ run win tomorrow.

KP gone, Cook looks like he's going to grind out a captains knock. Leaving anything wide of off stump and picking off anything on his pads.

The key to the rest of this Test rest on the shoulders of Bell and Cook

For England to have any chance of salvaging a draw these two will have to bat out the day imo

Clarke should be telling the bowlers to put every delivery within 6 inches of off stump. Get them in the corridor where they don't have the luxury to leave every ball. There's some nice cracks in the pitch would should offer something for the bowlers.

Bell gone, Ingerlund 4/130.

Just a matter of time now one would think. If they get Cook soon they may take it out today.

How would Mr Prior be feeling , sitting on his third golden duck at the Gabba ??

Cook gone, English are shot now. Hard to see them batting out the day plus with five wickets in hand. They may offer resistance but I think we'll get them.
