Joel Caine was just giving the odds on highest run scorer for the ODI …after going through a few he finished off with........ Maybe you like De Kock.... 😕

Lol … They have some weird arse names do the South Africans !

Names that are native to their homeland aren't ''weird arse'' at all. I assume you think names like Chan and Habib are also ''weird arse''

No , being in a multi-cultural society when you are familiar with hearing the names Chan & Habib is not weird arse , is it a crime in having a laugh at names like De kock & Faf du plessis ?
You need to get of your high horse mate and lighten up a bit … ?

Oh yeah, Faf's name (short for Francois) is hilarious. You must have a funny sense of humor if that name makes you laugh

Slats came up with some beauties in commentary tonight….my faves

Richardson needs to get it right or he might get De Kock going....and then

Smashed by De Kock,,,

Gee I can't stand Mark Nicholas. He tries way too hard to try and make things sound exciting. Why has this pom who only played first class cricket got a free ride into and Australian commentary team? And he is then head commentator for God's sake. I just don't understand how it happened. Do you think the poms would hire James Brayshaw as head of their commentary team?

I get what you're saying, i don't really care for him either, but his credentials as a cricketer are irrelevant, its what he's like as a presenter. Look at Johns and Fittler, 2 of the greatest players to have ever played the game, but complete meatheads in front of the camera.

I don't mind Nicholas , he's just lacking the typical Aussie sense of humour and the Aussie larrikin banter that Taylor & slater provide . But he goes all right for a Pom .
He defiantly wouldn't look out of place on the Antiques Roadshow !

I prefer Nicholas over Slater or James "Maxwell" Brayshaw. Brayshaw is fair dinkum embarrassment with the way he pulls himself over Finch, Maxwell and Wade.

Nicholas is is there to provide what Richie gave us. A statesmanlike presence with a bit of interjected insight.

Shane Watson has to be on borrowed time now. Another failure with the bat when the team leans on him and tossing up 120kmh pies. How is it that Devereux is nearly ten years younger and bats with the composure under heat that Watson should?

I don't like any of the new generation of commentators. All too bias for me. I watch the game on mute these days, or just listen to the ABC. Nothing beats the old brigade of Richie, Bill, Tony and Chappelli. The cricket commentary team use to be an exclusive club, now they just hire complete wankers, i.e Brayshaw and Healy.

ABC are the way to go. Jim Maxwell is great to listen to, and Aggers and Skull were great.

Harsha Bhogle is great as well, his back and forth with Skull was awesome. He should be here this summer with India.

Crowds are down, crickets on TV and radio everywhere…with a stinker predicted tomorrow of 43 or 36 in the city....I doubt we'll see too many there for a dead rubber

Completely forgot about Bhogle. He's great to listen to as well.

Just a shame that Skull has pulled up stumps, I'll miss him this summer.

A lot of concern for Phil Hughes at the SCG.

Phil Hughes knocked out by bouncer at SCG
There are serious concerns for South Australian batsman Phil Hughes after he was hit on the side of the head by a bouncer by Sean Abbott during a Sheffield Shield clash against NSW at the SCG.
>
After appearing to be struck in the head Hughes stood, looked at his feet and crashed face-first into the pitch. The NSW players and umpires called for help immediately.

I saw it on the stream, it looked very bad.

Match referee has taken all the players off the field and called for an early tea.

Doesn't sound good at all. Apparently he got air lifted to hospital.

The best i've seen any batsman handle getting hit in the face was McCullum during the big bash a couple yrs ago. Got sconned flush on the chin, and he reacted by standing there spitting blood. Pretty bad arse.

Was pretty horrible to watch.

He gets hit in area that looks scarily close to his carotid artery, leans over and looks like he's trying to get his breath and then collapses face first into the pitch. All the Blues players start panicking and wave for the doctors.

What reason is there that the bouncer is allowed in the game? Its a garbage delivery, aimed at trying to take a batsmen's head off. How is that part of the game? Its an intimidation ball, nothing less, nothing more. And you watch everyone come out and say it was an accident, really? How is aiming a ball at a guys head at 140-150km's an hr an accident?

Yrs ago when Brett Lee made a career of targeting tailenders with short stuff was nothing short of thugery.
