Not sure why India are batting with rain around the next 2 days. Could have easily had the Aussies 2 or 3 down again at stumps.

We’d have been 2 or 3 down by 4.30!!!!

But I agree - only thought I had was trying to grind them down mentally

Whatever Fleming is smoking, I want some of it, suggesting one of the Aussie bowlers needs to take a couple wickets to get them back in the game. A couple???? They take 5 for 0 and would still be behind.

What can you say …................

The pitch Happy…

Amazing , the same gremlins that had the pitch playing tricks when India bowled in Perth travelled all the way to Melbourne and did the same again

Our supposed strength is second rate and our batting is 2nd 11 level at best

I know I bagged Siddle dropping the catch , but he would be a far more effective bowler than Hazelwood in Melbourne

Cummins can hold his head high , Starc is beginning to resemble Mitch Johnson , very erratic

Starc and Hazelwood are basically useless beyond the new ball's effectiveness

The batting has been an issue for at least the 5 years. Smith and Warner have carried them for a long time. Now neither of them are there, they are exposed badly. You know you are struggling when Khawaja is your marquee batsman.

What can you say …................

Top 6 for the ashes:

Harris
Warner
Burns
Smith
Head
Bancroft

Bancroft is terrible. Nowhere near test standard as of now. I know Khawaja is in a slump and he’s disappointed this series but he’s twice the batsman Bancroft is.

Harris hmm… For me it’s down to him or Burns to open.

Khawaja first drop.
S Smith at 5

Then it’s wide open. Possibly Head at 5\. At 6 I’d almost take a punt on Patterson, Jake Lehmann etc. Handscomb seems to have the yips and unless he gloves up he’s got to start making runs. The Marshes we all know about. Mitch is not a top 6 test bat. He’s barely a shield top 6.

I’d seriously consider taking Pukovski to tour. He’s a gun big time. Bats 3 for Victoria. Could be the answer at 6.

Cummins on fire.

Maybe I was a little harsh on Bancroft. 38 FC average isn’t terrible but he’s got a dodgy technique for an opener

Harris
Renshaw
Pucovski
Uzi
Smith
Burns

Even if we take anyone older they are only going to let us down. Invest in the kids.

I don't care how young that line up is. Back them and let them come into form.

I can accept Bancroft and Khawaja comments.
So…..
Harris
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Head
Burns/Lehmann/??????
As a compromise!
