So what does the forum think? Should batters be able to switch hit? As an old bowler I’d send the bastards out without a bat but that’s just me!!?

The switch hitting doesn't bother me, I'm more concerned about the size of bats now days.

A six should be an exceptional shot scored by exceptional batsmen - not a mis hit over third man!!

If that were the case guys like Brett Lee and Mitch Johnson should never have hit a six in their careers.

Ok so I’m using hyperbole.

My point is that the excitement of going to the cricket and ‘hopefully’ seeing a six or two has been shattered. Don’t know about you but I love the contest between bat and ball - not flat track bullies thinking they’re Bradman because of the favourable pitch, bat, boundary...

Bring the bowlers back into the game then. I've no problem with switch hitting. Give bowlers competitive pitches and top with stupid rules like the free hit. Take away the power play as well. Fix all that and if the batsmen can still pull off a switch hit they deserve it.

I actually watch very little T20 and find myself watching less and less one day cricket all the time. It has all become a little meaningless to me.

I actually watch very little T20 and find myself watching less and less one day cricket all the time. It has all become a little meaningless to me.

We’ve been watching the beginning of the big bash games then turning to Netflix to watch The Crown. Haven’t seen a 20 over game through to the end yet this season!!
