So far, the Aussies have lost 4 for 55 in the second session of play. 👎
Pissweak effort. Every reason to dig in and fight, which they haven’t done as a group for a while now and they meekly surrender.
They lose this Test and their perceived legacy in this series from the English will be underserved, choking cheats. They need to fight. Put the white flag away and stand up to them.

Weird day. On one hand we could have nailed them for 200 if the catching was better. On the other hand the pitch looks good and 280-ish was well under par. They lost a lot of wickets from slogball rather than the pitch doing a stack. Usman looked rock solid, Marnus is clearly in form. Be great to be ahead before Head and Marsh come in so they can really have a crack. Batting should be good on days 2 and 3 so hopefully we can get a 200+ run lead.

Well there goes that hope. Instead of mounting a 200 run lead, we’ll be flat out even making 200. Terrible batting yet again

Finally seen a bit of backbone from the Aussie batsmen.
Smith and Cummins righted the ship nicely and now Murphy is playing the cameo of pitch hitter to chase the lead down.
We’ve made England bowl a lot of overs which is good but one can’t help feeling disappointed that we performed so poorly for 50 odd overs today. After letting England score too many yesterday with our fielding it’s a chance gone missing.
Anyway, good fight from these three has got us in the frame again.
Still 3 full days of cricket left to play. Will be interesting as England will want a massive lead, but have to leave enough time to get us out.

We have the lead.
Well done, didn’t look possible 2 hours ago.
Murphy has capitalised on the hard work done by Usman earlier and Smudge and Cummins at the end.
Our other batsmen will be expected to be a lot better in the second innings.
Currently 5 ahead after making them bowl 100 overs 👍🏼

It literally achieved more than bazball.
If the Poms bat all of day 3. they’ll set 400. While it hasn’t been perfect, you’d think they’ve lost 5-0 given the negativity. As it stands, they are a good chance of levelling the series, and extending the Aussies drought of winning a series on English soil beyond 25 years.

Well that may occur and if it does, we’ll have 2 days to score 389 for the win.

Negativity? They have been boasting it has been a success. We have just supplied a bit of perspective for them.

That is the very best they can achieve if everything goes their way. Pretty unimpressive. We can win this series 2-1 with a draw in this game or 3-1 with a win. No matter what happens out of those 3 options, we still take home the prize. Bazball has failed.

It has been. Haven’t lost a series yet, and still might not.

It can’t win and that’s what counts. It is being played on specifically prepared pitches on its home turf, in front of parochial crowds and enjoying the pick of conditions in most Tests yet will not achieve its desired result.

Will you consider the series a success for the Aussies if they lose this Test?

My company transferred me to San Francisco in 1972 and then to UK 1973 -1976
Went to a couple of Aussie games in the inaugural One day World Cup in 1975
First vs Pakistan in Headingly and Second the final we played Windies at Lords
Was 60 overs each in those days .
We would have won final except for 5 run-outs. Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd kept throwing down the stumps. Apart from Lillie and Thommo we had a swing bowler Garry Gilmore a bit like Massie
