Channel seven and the ACB will take a massive financial hit with this test only going two days
Yes and WA cricket and Fox Sports….
Imagine being a pommie supporter and coming over for just this first test….
Disgraceful Test Cricket from them both at times.

Its been very difficult to get tickets this year. Ive a theory that CA have sold more tickets/packages than normal at a hugely inflated price to the English to cover the losses from the short tests due to their useless cricket team.

Some absolutely horrible shots played from both teams...one armed baseball slogs, nil footwork, both feet in the air
I think the commentary is blowing a lotta smoke re Heads century....it was crucial in the context of the game but its no surprise he was caught skying one
Good win for the Aussies when it looked pretty dire at certain stages...quite a rollercoster this one

You’re a dinosaur like me old fella (although I’m sure I’m much younger). It ain’t test cricket like we knew it. I don’t think the game will ever be what we knew it as again. Still you can only win what you play, and we did.
I always hark back to Waugh’s, Ponting, Mcgraths and the King. Day 5 and the King spinning ( and sledging) for the win. Something those of my era were blessed to see. It was great while it lasted, but it’s just a memory now.

So sad what’s happened to Test cricket, T20 has bred an entire generation who only care about hitting boundaries for their highlight reels. Look at Sam Konstas. Playing ramp shots in the first over on Boxing Day. I feel like the disrespect for Test cricket is only going to grow more and more. The art form is dying.

Its the age of instant gratification....we all know whats happening

I never thought i would miss watching players like Lawry and Boycott but they would never have thrown their wickets away like most of the batsmen did in the last 2 days.I have thought for years that t20 is destroying cricket and this debacle over the last 2 days won't make me change my mind despite the win.

I’m a CA pre-purchase member and the site was logjamed, so I got up early the next morning and couldn’t get day 1, 2, or 3, in the Syd, Bris, or Melb, for boxed seats. I had trouble getting anything descent for a group, and gave up.

I arrived back from the UK Friday morning and was talking to a couple of Poms who had been re routed via Sydney who had tickets for the five days and were complaining they would not get to the ground till the final session. Poor buggers only got a session and a day and saw their team fold like a pack of cards
