That must have been Khawaja's last Test. At 39 his reflexes and fitness are non-existent. Drops sitters and injures himself jumping, also doesn't score runs which is supposedly what he is there to do.

Then we have Lyon who is less than a year younger but has done SFA since the last Ashes series when he injured his aging calf. Lyon doesn't score runs or take wickets anymore even against tail-enders, so not sure what his purpose is. He is a poor man's Marsh, top bloke in the sheds but otherwise useless.

I thought that ruining summer was only a West Indies/Sri Lanka/Pakistan thing. Seems the English are now complicit. I had planned to sit on my ass all day watching the Ashes and now I don't know what to do with myself. Screw bazball.

Think that last session yesterday was historic
205 runs in less than a session !
run rate 7.24 rpo
Travis Head 123 off 83 balls in less than a session
Missing 2 of our 3 fast bowling trio so Starc steps up with a 10 for

Only down side I was planning to enjoy watching test cricket Sun / Mon
England lose 20 wickets in 68 overs

Ben Stokes enters a club with only THREE members in Test history — and then takes a historic Ashes five-for in Australia.
🏏

In one session, Stokes moved himself into all-rounder territory only giants usually occupy.
7000+ Runs & 200+ Wickets — Only:
• Jacques Kallis
• Garry Sobers
• Ben Stokes
And yesterday, he matched Sobers’ 235 Test wickets.
Then he did something no England captain has managed in over 40 years —
the first England skipper since Bob Willis (1982) to take a five-for in an Ashes Test in Australia.

So amid the gloom, a skerrick of light.
Just the captain and the 10 others to somehow regroup .......

He is proof that shit gets wickets.
England have had a good bowling attack for many years now and he has managed to scab a lot of wickets off the back of them
