Idk, it feels like the commentary team try to bring the T20 atmosphere to Test cricket. Mark Howard and his “box office” shit. It’s terrible.

Self indulgent is an apt description. And as someone else mentioned, Australian commentary (in most sports) has been really Americanised the last decade. Very sad.

Americanised and T20ed shoozed up!
Test matches don’t need it, they build the drama, but it’s an instant gratification world.
And how is a bloke supposed to nod of on the lounge when there’s bloody fireworks and crap going on?
