I need to get something off my chest which has been gnawing at me for a long time. The state of cricket commentary in 2025. We really had no idea just how good we had it with Richie and co did we? Richie would turn over in his grave if he saw what commentary has become. 7 or Fox, take your pic. Today, it’s all about them, they’re the stars. Watching Fox yesterday, at Tea and they showed a reply of the wickets. But we also had to see a camera on the box, watching them as they called them. And don’t even get me started on Triple M. They might just be the worst. The only true team that resembles the old days is the ABC. Jim Maxwell is the best cricket commentator in the country and it’s not even close. Back to Fox, they started talking about an English declaration when they were 5 down. As the wickets kept tumbling, the talk got louder and louder. To the point when they got 9 down, they could not believe that the Poms kept batting. Even when the last two were hitting them everywhere. I’d say it turned out to be a good decision. Root is still there, if they come out again today and knock out another 30 or 40, that’s going to be a pretty formidable score. Yet these clowns wanted them to declare at 9/270. Just to get a few overs in under lights. Sure, it works if you get a couple. But if the opposition finish none down, suddenly you look like idiots.

Pretty simple then, always listen to the ABC?

Ends up a good day 6-378 a lead of 44 with 4 first innings left
Marnus set the tone with a super catch
Weatherald surprised me with how well he batted
The whole team contributed with every batter getting a start
Pity no one went on to get the big one but English bowlers looked drained and might not back up too well

After all they got 300 + runs
Oops we are in front and scored at a higher run rate than the bazball braggers

He looked pretty good before that. Ya gotta fill ya boots 🥾 when you’re rolling. Poms look like they were struggling in the heat, speeds were down a little. I hope Carey goes on with it. 100 plus lead will set us up nicely, but 150 plus and we’re setting attacking fields. Also we need to manage the game a little so we’re bowling and batting at the good times. We don’t wanna be chasing to much.
