I don’t think he’s ever really liked batting there so wouldn’t surprise me.
There seems to be a bit of a furore about Smiths non appearance in this game. Doctors cleared him to play but he said he wasn’t ready ? Strange - plus that interview I read recently that indicated he may not be playing in the Ashes next year.

I found it strange that Smith has been watching the game ......would of thought he'd be resting it or getting physio on it
When I've had a crook neck / shoulder the last thing I'd want to do is sit in an upright chair and watch cricket ...just me

Yeah he's a lot better than I thought , I had him a distant second behind Maharaj .....handy batsmen as well , good fielder
