Cricket Season

Seems like Clarkey flew back to Australia so he could dump Lara.

Personally I can't stand Clarke, just the way he talks, "Michael Clarke does this," "Michael Clarke will do that," it really annoys me (as does anyone talking about themself in the 3rd person), it just screams wanker to me.

You're so far wrong on Clarke …It's not funny.....

He seems like a good bloke to me.
The way he's handled himself throughout this saga has been nothing but admirable.
Ive hardly ever heard him talk in 3rd person perspective either.
Sure he had an attention seeking tramp of a partner but we've all made mistakes with our relationships, at least he had the guts end it and by the looks of it move on.

On another note Peter George has been flown in as cover for Ryan Harris who is in a little bit of doubt for the 1st Test.
Just some stats on him:

Age: 23
Height: 202cm, 6ft 6in (Joel Garner was 6ft 8)
Matches: 16
Wickets: 56
Avg: 31.05
Econ: 2.98
Best bowling innings: 8/84

Pretty good figures for a young bowler in the Shield who has to toil away at the Adelaide Oval. Apparently he has a McGrath type of action and by the looks of it, an early McGrath type of batsman:
Avg: 2.42

If it's not funny then why laugh? Honestly, I've never met the guy, I'm just going on how he carries himself in the media, just comes across as arrogent to me. I wouldn't be shocked if I was completely wrong, because as I've said I've never met the guy.

Australia are in a little bit of strife in the first test against New Zealand at 4/178\. Harris making his test debut for Siddle, Watson out giving Hughes another chance to prove himself. Right now though, North needs to step it up and put on a big partnership with Clarkey. That said New Zealand aren't exactly the best batting side.

The baige brigade (nz supporters army) are chanting "on your own" to clarkey.

Well Clarke showed no ill affect on the field…

Brilliant Century....Waugh like....

I thought it was brilliant, after being there for an hour, he was on about 3 from memory.
Yet he finished with 100 off 142 balls, he played Vettori superbly, coming down the pitch and hitting over his head and then playing back and cutting away next ball.

I thought Smith was unlucky not to play today, I think North has done enough already for the selectors to play the next test but he needs to make this a big score to get him onto the next tour to England to play Pakistan just before the Ashes.

10 wicket win by the Aussies.

Chased 106 with Hughes scoring 86 off 71 balls and Katich scoring 18 off 61.

But it looks like Hughes will still be dropped because Watson is better then 50/50 to return.

Lucky for North he scored that 100 of his.

I saw a news headline that Ponting was sweating on getting Watson back in the side for the second test. I guess winning by 10 wickets was cutting it just a little too close…

Cant help but feel a little sorry for Hughes.
Averaging over 50 as a 21 year old opener but still not a regular, yet Hussey is allowed to go 15 tests without a 100 and North 7 tests all because theyre 'experienced'….. Reminds me of my job hunting at the moment! :brick:

In saying that, now that North has scored a 100, there's no one that can really be dropped from that top order.

Woooooweee…...

Just watched the highlight's of the 20/20 semi against Pakistan......

Micheal Hussey......and Cameron White............take a bow......

Mr Cricket ......you legend... :wahoo:

Good on ya Huss…it was only suntansuperman who thought you couldnt do it.

To be honest I'm not even that surprised.

Would have loved to have been watching that game live. Now Australia are into the final of both the mens and womens comps.

Do you reckon the Poms realise they need to give back the trophy if they lose the next World T20?
