What I don't get is, why Morgan is playing for England and not Ireland ? Personally I'd much prefer the play for Eire-land than England. At least the Aussie crowd would be behind you. Now he's going to get really confused over here in Australia, he doesn't understand just hard we go against the poms..more so than any other team.
Now he's trying to sledge MJ..all the best with that!

People love to make big deals of these things, but its no different to the amount of League players who jump ship in international rugby league. Jarryd Hayne represented Fiji, Taumou is a kiwi. Hell half the Kiwi side are pacific islanders.

Could say the same for Ballance/Trott/Jordan/Stokes. The English have long used players who have grown up elsewhere.

Can we make a separate nsw vs qld thread? We can move all of these convos there so a thread isn't hijacked

😕
There's no "hijacking" going on here…. talking about where cricketers are from is still talking about cricket.

Who? Fawad Ahmed is the only genuine import I can remember in the last 30 years?

Khawaja emigrated to Australia at the age of 2, Symonds also came here as an infant. Brendon Julian was from NZ but came up through the AIS system.

Kepler Wessels is the only bona fide fence jumper I can remember in the last 30 odd years until Ahmed.

Not talking just about cricket CB. Australian sport is liittered with with players and athletes we've pilfered. The Wallabies are a good example, there's been many over the yrs. I think we're one of the last countries that can point the finger at other nations when it comes to this topic

Oh OK, in that case you're right. I thought you were referring to cricket solely.

All good mate. I should have been a bit more clear on reflection.

SL win the toss in Christchurch and elect to field.

Sanga v McCullum. Not a bad way to kick things off.

Great inning from Finch - & yet I bet he gets dropped when Clarke comes back and the waste of a wicket watson keeps his place.

There would be no way to justify Watson keeping his place when Clarke returns. He shouldn't even be there as it is.
