Parra are divers, no doubt, but I thought Packer was a bit reckless. It's dangerous

It’s Packers action at the end which is the issue , he probably has been doing the same thing his entire career .. does need to address it as he will again be in trouble as players are told to stay down and grab there neck for a cheap penalty .. Brown last night was a prime example what a cat !

Packer is guaranteed to miss next week, early plea or not.

Yep, stupid stuff.

The Parra club are synonymous with pea-hearts laying down in the tackle for a penalty. Kenny Edwards was the worst. Sivo and Brown have joined him, must be a low feeling to be known as a 'cat'.
This sort of thing is happening far too often in the game these days. Sucks that players get rewarded for it.

That's true but it only works because of dumb dumbs like Packer. That final action of him dropping his body weight on a player is dangerous and stupid.

Agree that Packer's effort was very dumb. Was key in swinging momentum Parra's way.
But Sivo and Brown didn't have any excuse for their pathetic lay-down displays. Brown especially, him jumping up and itching for the next hit-up was laughable. Refs should be able to reverse these decisions in instances like that.
Every single week blokes grab their head and it's an automatic penalty, most times the video ref doesn't even check to see if any contact whatsoever has been made. It's a tactic now. Hate for our team to start making a habit of doing it but if it gets you a penalty-on-demand maybe we should? Can't beat 'em, join 'em.

Is there a website that does stats like - team awarded most crushed penalties? Team giving away penalties on first tackle? Team given penalties in last 10 minutes with more than 10 point deficit? I’d rather those stats than post tackles meters gained which is essentially tells you nothing!

Your spot one, it's like Scott Prince diving. I'd like a coach to call it out and embarrass the players. If Madge said in the presser how remarkable a healer Brown is then that would embarrass him to think about doing it again.

People in the media as well. A couple of well-respected former hardmen coming out and condemning Brown's actions as pathetic and soft might embarrass him into re-thinking this sort of garbage play. Maybe.
In reality though, if they continue to get rewarded for this sort of peaheartedness, the more prevalent it will become. We'll be on an even keel with the EPL in no time.

Yep, diving after a kick stopped through public embarrassment

Are called the slimes for a reason....

Great stuff from Maguire to mention the pathetic effort from fat boy Brown. Should be more of it from influential people around our game.

The Eels are the new Storm - Storm were coached to wrestle/hold down the player on the ground - the Eels are coached to get up holding their necks to get a penalty ... Dumb Dumb Sutton just blows a penalty as soon as they hold their necks, no questions asked.
If you look at Packer’s ‘so-called’ crusher with the camera positioned behind the tigers defensive line Packer misses the head/neck when coming down in the tackle.
