Curtis Rona

Seeing as Rona has made the Wallabies squad I can't see how he'll want to change codes now. Why move to a code where you won't even play rep football, I'm sure that's all anyone cares about these days

It can also work the other way.. Hayne, Tuquri & SBW are just some examples that come to mind.
It's a sense of self establishment reaching the highest accolade in any given code, and pursuing it in another.

Hopefully now that the Force has been axed, it makes the decision to switch back to League an easier one for Rona.

I think that Rona has signed a "letter of intention to commit" to WT if the Force are axed. As the Force have now been axed, we will soon see how much weight such a letter carries.

In this day and age contracts hold little value so I'm afraid a letter of intent would carry even less. The optimist in me still holds hope he may arrive but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.

Also Head of the ARU (Bill Pulver ) quits.

Bill Pulver quits … huuurrraaahhh !!! Someone saw the writing on the wall about this guy a few years ago when they broke into Pulver's Double Bay home and put a collar bomb unfortunately around his daughters neck ... the main target then was Bill Pulver, pity he wasn't at home at the time and daughter had go through the ordeal. Pulver is a bad administrator, couldn't lay straight in bed this guy .. hope he is no where near a sport association, committee, or club, ever again .. !!

Anyways back to the subject, Curtis I've reserved a seat for ya on the bus mate dude, get on board .. !! Now what was the source of this rumour again, that's right, someone's wife knew a friend over in WA, who attends the same hairdressing saloon that Curtis' wife attends .. ??

Not before time. It's hard to think of Australian rugby being in a worse state since the 70s.

No you are so wrong, its far better than Victoria. It has a good following there and produces some good players. I cant honestly think of 1 decent junior player to come out of Melbourne!

That is possibly the worst decision by the ARU and could accelerate the death spiral that the game is already in. Good for us if Curtis decides in our favour.

Hazaa!!!
How good is it….
Hopefully they die a slow death and next year realise that one team wasnt enough and cut Melbourne

Let's not bank on Curtis being here anytime soon….

The whole ARU Force thing will go on for ages.

From a players pov i think i'd jump ship now though if i was a Force player. Who wants to wait another few months before you find out if you've still got your old job, there'll be a massive scramble and all clubs in other codes may not have as much cash left.

The above article said the ARU can't force sell players, but nothing about the players leaving voluntarily, though they may forgo some benefits if they do.

I'd be jumping too in order to secure my future. If he did indeed have preliminary talks with us, surely he would realise we are one of only a couple of clubs with decent money left in the kitty.

At the Bulldogs, he scored 23 tries in 25 games. He was their finisher, and provides immense aerial presence, speed and try-scoring abilities. He was recently selected for the Wallabies and is one of the Force's top players.

IMO, his signing along with a bench prop completes our 2018 team. He is vital.

He was pretty bloody good.

Speaking of not remembering him, a mate of mine was filthy because he thought we were after Kurtis Rowe again.

Playing for the Wallabies these days isn't what it was. They have been some woeful players selected over the last few years. Even Cooper Vuna has played for them.
Although I do think Rona looks like he could offer something.

Signing a winger is not vital at all.
