Is this guy worth the 19 pages of posts,

I dont really recall him and never trust the Youtube highlights pacages

At the Bulldogs, he scored 23 tries in 25 games. He was their finisher, and provides immense aerial presence, speed and try-scoring abilities. He was recently selected for the Wallabies and is one of the Force's top players.

IMO, his signing along with a bench prop completes our 2018 team. He is vital.

Signing a winger is not vital at all.

It is when you've got MWZ and Naiqama as contenders for your starting wing spot. Every great team has great wingers.

TBD. Nofo was one of the first acrobatically gifted wingers. Pulled off one that kept getting replays on and on. He can't run lenght of field but give him ball 15 to 20 out and he will get a gig for sers de le soliel or whatever that mob is called. Wingers need to be sharp and ready. Also need the ball that is coming to them to be sharper and more ready. Don't need super stars on wing just wingers who are ready and running in time with backline. Most times goes wrong from the inside but wingers do run at wrong times too. Its a pre season of hard work with all our recruits. Even minus rona. I'm already excited.

Do you only watch Tigers games? It would have been pretty difficult not to have noticed him he was that good. I was shocked when the Cowboys released him to the Dogs.

There's a few that only watch Tigers games as some want Graham.

Seriously, he wasn't that good.

He is a winger who gets the job done. Probably a little more bulky then most wingers and would fill a gap in our team (we need a finisher).

But was he that good? Nope. The Bulldogs let him go. Sure he has skills and can get across the try line. We need people who can get across the try line. But I would not break the bank for him. If I had to choose between Rona and Brett Morris for example, I would be weighing up the decision based on salary and stats. If all equal I would opt for Brett.

Apparently our hopes next year hinge on his signing.

Rona is better than Morris and it's not even close. Rona was a star coming through for the Cowboys and awesome for the Dogs.Played well with the Force and a rep player.
You prefer an old busted Morris based on previous reputation. You sign players for what they will do not what they have done.

IF you don't recall him then maybe don't comment on whether was good or not. Our hopes do not hinge on his signing but in my opinion would be our most damaging back if we got him. He was fantastic in the centres for the dogs before rugby.

I'm speaking in terms of this year. And, last I checked Naiqama is still negotiating a deal. He hasn't left just yet, unless you know otherwise?

Clearly, I didn't say our hopes next year hinge on his signing. We still need another winger and bench prop to complete our team, that is evident. He would be a vital part of our team, as the finisher (much like Vunivalu for Storm). Don't put words in my mouth, thanks.

What are we basing Rona coming off anyway? Why is it a foregone conclusion that he's signing with us?

Well, his club's just been cut. We need a winger, he needs a club. I'm not concluding that he's signing with us, I'm literally just recommending that we sign him as it will be a good signing. Wait, weren't we just talking about Naiqama?

And commenting on the fact that we need better wingers (i.e. Rona) as the likes of Naiqama are contending for starting spots within our team is still within the parameters of this topic. BTW, you brought up Naiqama's contract status

The Dogs didn't just let Rona go, he signed with the Force because he's from Perth and grew up playing union.

He's young, has size, is a good athlete and great finisher. In this day and age with no corner post and 20m 7 tackle sets, wingers are at a premium and with two guys who can cart the ball out and finish effectively on both sides with Nofoaluma and Rona we'll be in very good stead.

Given he has just been selected to make his debut for the Wallabies I'd say our chances of getting him are blowing out.

Who will he play with next year? rebels?
Honestly plating for the wallabies is not what it used to be. Id get sick of losing all the time.

Yep, it will be different with the Tigers (hopefully). 😱pen_mouth:

I believe Rona has a contract with the ARU - he will be "shipped" to other Super Rugby side I believe unfortunately. No source just a gut feel.
