It's on the Internet, It must be true.

Madge said, "He is contracted to the Raiders, they have him for now and where he ends up is up to Canberra"... Expect Tigers to have Scott signed by the weekend

Yeah it would make no sense for us to loan him and develop him for the Raiders next year.

Wait, why?
Why Scott, when were bringing in Gildiot or whatever his name?

Why does everyone seem to suggest we buy 2-50 specialist Centers? Seriously of all positions I have no idea why some Center always gets suggested for Recruiting and usually when we have 2x in position already.

Seriously? We are so light on in the centres that I have started training in case I get a call up.

Nofa reckons you’re not moving up with him in a straight line.

I keep having to tell him to get back to his wing, he is never where I expect him to be.

Yossarian, case in point.
We have Jimmy The jet, BJ Leulia, Mbye (sure off contract) and Oliver Gildart coming from the UK.
In addition to Talau, and maybe opportunities from Reserve grade.
Now we have to shell out a whole 5k a season to have Cochise line up in our colours!

Truly though you have hit the nail on the head, our problem is how our Centers are working with our wings to provide coordinated attack and defense. Can we just pair people and be consistent for a while? if not for the players, just so the fans can learn the names of our backline!

Has anyone ever seen Brad Parker and @cochise in the same room?

Yes we do have centres, just not good ones.

Don’t think anyone wants 50 centers we just want 2 that are nrl level. At the end of the day the market is very thin. Scott is better than what we have and is cheap, he is young and can actually defend.

Yes we have Gildart someone who has an injury history, has never played a game of nrl and is young. If he sets the world on fire and does the job in the centers then he would be an extremely rare recruit to do so. 95% of english backs that fly over end up back home within a season as they can’t even make it on reserve grade here.

I will take your point, Curtis Scott is known as a defender and we are leaking too many points.

Yet with Defense it's a team sport. Changing the back line only means Nofo thinks he needs to step out while his center expects him to step in. The coordination is a huge problem and I get our signings reflecting a need for good defenders.
Just the chop and change isn't going to be helping.

Ofcourse we have to get this right in the first instance. BJ Leilua was too slow and not engaged enough in the game. Roberts I think may have it in him yet, but hey he has to show that on the field.

I take the point, neither right side or left side have gelled enough to stop leaking points. So hey lets change till it is right and then let the combination Gel, i.e. wing, center and second rower learn to trust each other and learn when to provide help.

Good points. I agree we need more defensive players.

I think our problem is further in though. If we had the best defenders in the centres and wing, we'd still leak a lot of points. I think both our starting second rowers are not good defenders, and we have no one in the middle leading line speed and attacking with our defence.

IMO a big reason why the Roosters are so good defensively despite the injuries is because they have JWH and Radley rushing off the line and attacking in defence. The only time I've ever seen us do this is in Packer's first year with us, and a couple of games last year (First Parra game, first bulldogs game).

It loathes me to mention this because I don't want to use it as a way of measuring intent. However, last year we had players constantly going off with HIA. Across the NRL there has been an increase in HIAs, but just from watching the Tigers, we seem to be either very lucky as we have been avoiding them mostly, or the players are not putting themselves at risk.

Comparing the Chooks and Tigers is like comparing what it takes to make the bacon and eggs. A huge part of the roosters game is their aggressive kick returns, while our kick returns generally start with a hop skip and sidestep 15 metres from the closest defender. It sets the theme for the rest of the set.

All he needs to do is announce he’s the best centre in the game then I’m sold

I hope Timana Tahu can replicate the success he’s had with BJ and the Jet.

This is a fair enough point in my eyes

We are near on last in the league for kick returns and kick return meters.

We must fix that. The chooks had around 360 krm last night and we’re lucky if we get 60. Too much focus on the last play of the set and not enough on the first imo.

That is true, we spend a lot of time in our backs bringing the ball up. Whilst it has a lot to do with how deep the opposition get us on play 1 (due to their field position end of their set) it’s still an error we need alot of work in.
Starts and finishes with our forwards in my opinion.

Forwards put kick pressure on, turn and chase back and also are available to help the set.

When I played, it was always known as a backs set and we’d have the fullback, take the return not dropping a winger under, the winger on the (side of possession) take the next, centre then backrower same side and lock to finish to ensure our halfback gets the best play the ball for a decent kick.

Did you hear stephano interview this week. Said he learnt how to train better in origin after seeing Dale Finucane train and all the extras he does

Concerning he is not picking that up from our club there lays the difference

Very concerning
