Does anyone know for sure we have signed Daine Laurie for 2022 and not just the rumours..
Maybe I am just scarred but have a bad feeling another club will come in late and pouch on him from under our nose.. I would like us to sign him and even announce and then work on the 2021 early release.

Jonesy ...I think your on Laurie Watch ...good luck

Giddy up son, this is what we need, a young bloke with oodles of ability, a tonne of pace and a specialist in his position. Welcome aboard Daine, best of luck champ.

The least Ivan can do is release him early to Tigers given the way he royally shafted us. We've been cleaning up his mess ever since.

I don't think Valdermort cares

He has no soul, which is why it’s going to be great to see him try to manage the next crop of youngsters coming through when there is no place for them.

He’s already shown his hand kicking mansour off the bus to keep Staines. Who is next hahahahahaha

Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm that rising talent Daine Laurie has agreed to join the club from the start of the 2022 NRL season.

The 21-year-old Laurie — who is contracted to the Penrith Panthers for the 2021 season — has signed a two-year contract that will see him feature in Wests Tigers from the start of the 2022 season until at least the end of the 2023 season.

A Grafton Ghosts junior who excelled in the junior ranks, Laurie was named Penrith’s Jersey Flegg Player of the Year in his first season with the Panthers U/20’s side — scoring 23 tries in 33 games over the course of the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

In 2020, Laurie made his first-grade debut in Round 13 against the Canberra Raiders, going on to play a further two matches in his rookie season.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said he was delighted to see a player with Laurie’s exceptional talent commit his future to the club.

“Daine is one of the best young fullbacks in the game and we’re very excited to see him take the next steps in his rugby league career with the Wests Tigers,” Pascoe said.

“His commitment to the future of Wests Tigers highlights the strong squad and future that Coach Michael Maguire is delivering for this club, and we’re looking forward to welcome Daine into our colours at the start of the 2022 season.”

Unfortunately I get the feeling that means we won’t get him early but I hope his manager keeps trying (without causing a fuss of course)

Thing is there’s no benefit for Penrith to release him early and it helps us so they’ve got no reason at all to do it, same as eels with Stefano

Good pickup though very talented junior who could play fullback or 5/8 for us depending what we need more in 2022

Welcome, Daine! I look forward to seeing you in our colours.

So I guess for 2021 the likelihood is Moses Mbye at fullback, Adam Doueihi in the halves?

Really good couple of days.

Further proves our club is not the mess the media tries to portray.

Just hope we can get him for 2021, we never get our way but other clubs play the dirty tactics to take ours away early.

good pick up. hopefully the panthers do what's right by the kid and let him leave his development contract for a top 30 position (unlike Parramatta). Otherwise, see you 2020

you can tick the long term fullback off the Christmas list, we got him. welcome Daine, fingers crossed you join us sooner than planned.

I'm sure the kid would be ultra keen to join Wests in 2021. At the moment he'd be a guaranteed start at fullback. A year's a long time and you never know who might secure the spot in the meantime.
And yeah I know the kid can play but none of us can predict the future.

Young with speed, we are addressing the areas we lack in, unfortunately there are quite a few of those. A release for 2021 would be a great result for us and Daine, hope he gets one, welcome aboard mate.

I know little about him, but the fact that this forum seems to be in total agreement (very rarely happens) that it's an exciting signing is enough to get me on board and get me excited. Shame that we have to wait until 2022 to see him and he's not coming over straight away, but it's another bright prospect signed up.

I could get used to this positive news on a daily basis.

Welcome Daine.

Nice signing. Looks like a good young kid. Looks like he has some pace and plays both 6 and 1.

Welcome to the club.
