Wow, I spend a weekend watching Little Athletics State qualifiers at Narrabeen and come home to some great news - wasn't expecting this to be honest.

I still Mbye will start the season at fullback, but once Laurie is brought up to speed, I think Moses will end up the bench utility.

Do you see this impacting Simpkin’s game time this year provided Mbye has more utility value or do you think injuries might negate this factor?

dout simpkins would be ready until 10 games in or so, Maybe then depending on Liddles form or injuries he takes the 9
Mmbye is great utility value though

He's a handy utility to fill in at a pinch, but certainly not great value at his price tag!!!

I know nothing at all about Laurie so I will temper my enthusiasm until I get to see him in action.

I do know that Momo undertook a relocation to the Storm to assit the Harry Grant season at the Tigers in 2020. I thought that was selfless and decent on his part.

I'm disappointed that he couldn't return to the Tigers and be a part of a better 2021 season. I hope his move to the Panthers is financially and professionally better for him and his immediate future.

No doubt, he learnt a lot under Bellamy and his systems and I wish him every success in his future.

10 Lessons learned under Bellamy’s ‘system’

1. Where to store your secret boat
2. Don’t mention the second set of books, or the fact we cheated, got caught and suffered no long term ill effects.
3. We are a professional organisation (unless you’re Munster or Bromwich - they’re high as kites)
4. If you sook enough we’ll up your pay
5. How to steel candy from a baby
6. Diamonds are for Cam
7. How to street fight Bali style and get away with it.
8. How to fall asleep in a park on your way to Canberra and blame the cops for it.
9. Cursing on TV is hilarious if kids are watching.
10. Fans that don’t know the rules are the best kind, especially when you have the refs in your pocket.

Hope Momo didn’t leave any Melb culture at WTs.

I think Simpkins will debut even earlier than that, internal sources have been saying he could be a chance for a bench spot round 1

Plenty of competition for positions with a mixture of youth and experience. Interesting times ahead.

WOW .. he’s Tedesco-like!
Another step closer to making Mbye extinct ... ✅
Typical Ivan though, drawing it all out to limit Laurie’s offseason preparations with us ... in any case we are the winners.

Wouldn’t that also mean Momo’s off-season preparation with the Panthers is limited too??

Hooker Simpkin
I’d imagine I’d image Madge will go this 3 middles and a utility.
I’d like to see Simpkin given a bench spot. Now its a real hard choice

Great news.

Don’t think he walks into the team round 1 though. No need to rush him and I think Madden deserves a shot at the 6 leaving Mbye at 1 for round 1.

Eventually I see Laurie as fullback, but similar to AD last year, he’ll take time to learn the plays.

I cant believe some of the diatribe on the forum at the moment because we have signed an unproven young gun supposedly going to be a revelation at fb starting from this season and most are bagging the crap out of a player who was paid big money to come to us,has had great form when coming to us,played SOO and can play several positions at any one time..Mbye has carried a groin injury last year and didnt play up to his paycheck, dont forget Tedesco was paid huge money to be with us we nurtured him through bad injuries and he turned his back on us not once but twice until the money was right,,,at the very least Mbye took on the captaincy, was shuffled from fb,to 5/8 to centre and is a utility most clubs would like to have..
Im all for bagging players who dont put in,but Moses has never bagged the club, has taken positional changes on the chin and is there to help the young guys adapt to NRL level football..
I dont care if Mbye gets a gig somewhere else once his contract is up..I will be the first to wish him well...some on here put the future of finals football on someone who someone has an opinion of..when Laurie plays NRL full time for at least 2 years and then becomes a SOO prospect then we can say what we like about other players...he is young and learning, doesnt mean he will be a sensation after a couple of games ,,,remember Brooks and his debut...the next Joey Johns they said...has he played origin or led the west tigers to the semis in the last 9 years,NO.but he has had excuses, and rightly so.Mbye is a seasoned player who has been there done that but cops garbage criticism because of his payckeck...its the NRL most big signings are a punt until they play a fair bit of NRL...yet some on here are raving on about a rookie who hasnt even played 10 NRL games yet....please...be excited for the club, but dont bag the club, coach or recruitment if things dont work out....ITS A BUSINESS....SUCCESS AND PROFIT RULE THE ROOST...always remember that...no matter how much you pay someone or how much time you put into developing a player if they dont succeed at this level there is always someone waiting to fill the void.......cheers God love the WTs and all of you lot....

Recruitment team have done a fantastic job

I’m glad Laurie could join us early but sad to see momo go would have liked to have kept him I’m sure he would have got plenty of game time

Yep, would have been much happier with a Cini-Laurie swap...

It seems we have a lot of guns at wt let’s just hope they turn out to be cannons and not pop guns.I prefer a proven nrl standard player

He is - but he can't tackle.

A lot of young players have a weakness in their game, thats why clubs spend big on training and coaching staff. A 19 or 20yr old very rarely has a complete game.Brooks was not a great defender, but now one of the best.Lets see how they develope before dumping them.
