Daley says Tigers need to ‘move on’ stars

The big name players on big coin are Brooks, Packer, Reynolds and Mbye.

Reynolds can just go. Mbye I'd legit pay him to play elsewhere at this point. If someone wants to chip in 3-400k for him then yep idc. Packer I think I'd offer him a 1 year extension on a lower salary. A "prove it deal". For me Brooks has til the end of his contract to prove he deserves it. Pick him and roll with him and Walters as the halves, or Douehi if we can find a better option at fullback. I don't think Douehi is gonna be a fullback long term. If anything he looks physically like he's going to end up a backrower. He's just grown a ton.

Go and poach the eyeballs out of 17-20 year old top rated halves and fullbacks elsewhere to give us some youth coming through as I don't think who we have down there at present cuts it. Give Marshall the tap. Give Lawrence the tap. Blood everyone. See what you've got.

It's no easy feat what we have ahead of us here.

Hmmm, what great insights, why didn't any of us and others notice this previously.

Once our chances of playing finals are over (probably now), I’d give Mbye a go in the halves. Couldn’t be any worse than what we have, and if he is, then at least we’ll know not to try it next year.

Once our season is over I'd give him a go at PROP for 80 min. and get him to actually do something for the small fortune we are paying him.

Out and out Bludger (another one).

The opinions in the article are of course correct, but the reality is we can't afford to pay out the likes of Packer, Reynolds, Mbye etc. We get to clear a little bit of space at the end of this season but we need to survive next season and then be able to assemble a top squad for 2022 with our salary cap being far less restrictive.

Well, well, well - Loz and the drunk, tell us something we don't know and we haven't known for a few years.

We know what the problem is - (see how smart you both are) .... BUT WHAT IS THE ANSWER???????

Tell us how NOT to have to wait out these ridiculous expensive contracts.

Tell us how to buy new players that will take us up there tomorrow with NO spare cap.

Tell us who will take these players off our hands without us having to pay them to do it.

Madge knows the problem, all Tigers supporters know the problem.

You think you have discovered something, probably been reading our Forum.

Loz, go back into oblivion, El Drunko, see what else you can find in the bottom of your glass.

Tell us something we don't know!

I would drop him and make Benji captain for the remainder of the season. As captain he is more inconsistent than anyone. You can’t drop Brooks and Marshall for the same issues and give Mbye a free pass. Message has to be sent.

Oh i'm not saying it as a way of promoting him in some way. ***I'm just saying that with the season gone*** the difference between finishing 10th of 12th is inconsequential. We might as well take the time to try some new things in preparation for next year. Just my opinion.

Ye of little faith!!!

Exact same position as 2005 with 8 rnds remaining. Yes, weirder things have happened as history suggests.

Throwing in the towel now and simply giving up is no option and I believe the players feel the same.

We have 8 games left of which 6 are against top 8 sides. We haven't beaten a top 8 side all year

Mumbai is on $950k per season not what was reported, can also google Zero tackle Wests tigers gives lists of players and some $.
As i said in Recruit & Rumours - Mybe is disinterested you could see that at half time, his agent is currently shopping around to be the 1st captain of the new Brisbane franchise (Firehawks) Drop him reduce his net worth.

This article is the only thing that has made me feel slightly good since Friday night's game. I know it's only an article and words spoken by 2 people, but never the less it's some independent acknowledgement of how badly things need to change and change properly. The chip at Ivan is also good as what he did honour club was criminal and should never have been allowed to leave or should have been made to take his poor signings with him and Panthers wear the freight.

Either way, let's hope change does happen and the days of past mismanagement slowly fade away.

One of the very few players who are off (or near off ) contract at the end of this year I would keep would be Packer.

Agree. Until then the club needs to play the players that will be firing in 2021 and 2022. The players that won’t feature 2021 onwards should be subsidised and released. Recruits need to be of the age where in 2022 they are not too old.
It will take 2 years to get it right.

This is not the 2005 side, if you think we can win 5/8 games and maintain for and against, hope other teams lose games expected to win, your dreaming.
If we finish where we are now 10th that what the expectation would be.

I'm with you here mate. I can handle seeing a loss due to abit of inexperience but not from careless senior citizen players that just aren't up to it anymore.

Perfect opportunity to buck the trend this week.

Momentum is a vicious beast. Once it changes it's hard to stop. Top of the ladder teams won't sustain this form continuously
