Dally m awards

All the uncertainty may cost us Brooks and Cleary.

At what point does someone step in to start negotiations with Brooks for an extension

We should know in early November whether NC Re-signs with Penrith. If he does then we see how much we have to offer Brooks. If he doesn’t then Brooks gets an upgrade as first choice halfback.

So after other clubs can make a play for Brooks and we get caught in a bidding war and ongoing contract speculation?

Good clubs identify their talent and lock it in.

If we don’t get Nathan and Brooks gets a better offer, we can panic buy (paying overs like Reynolds) or have Drinkwater run our team for a couple of years while chasing elsewhere or waiting for potential to develop

just been looking at the sportsbet markets for 2018 and they rate luke brooks a 1.55 chance to be chosen as halfback of the year.thats a nice affirmation that he has had a top year.

who needs Nathan cleary?

Not sold on Cleary myself, but he did have have maybe out weeks with injury. So who knows how he would be in the voting.

luke is 9-1 behind cook at 2.50,pongia at 3.50 and roger tu sheek at 4.00.
for halfback is brooks with daylight second.
there you have it.

Hang on , isn't Brooks leading going into the last few rounds ??

Before the Raiders game a leaked leaderboard had Brooks leading on 22points 1 ahead of Cook..

Brooks won't win it despite having an awesome season..
It's all politics.

Slater will probably win it

It may be but it isn't half as political as the broader game of NRL itself.Im not so sure there is so much bias in the medal.

Thurston will get it in a team that will probably collect the spoon.

Or him.

Sympathy wins.

Imagine em giving it to LB.
Not a chance in the world.

As Demps previously posted,
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Billy Slater will be the dally M player of the year. :rant
He was player of the series for origin. :unamused:

My thoughts exactly - I thought this was the one event you CANT Rig, as they announce the round by round results on the night….

Dally M’s are a complete joke. Farah should have two of them but didn’t get one because the Todd Carney comeback was a better story and another because they wanted Thurston to have 2.

Dodgy and bad TV. Compared to the Brownlow it's an embarrassment.

Why do you say this? I’ve never watched Brownlow’s so am just interested

Probably because of the Brownlow tradition TS

Basically the Dally M's have been thrown together in an attempt to match the Brownlow

Penallty broncos and Tigers dont win Dally M's

Put the house on Cook, the fix will come.

Don't pay any attention to the Ms. RLPA awards would mean more imo. Being voted best by your peers.

You would think Cook will be in the mix I hope Luke pips him at the post when we make the finals. Ponga has had a stand out year as well.
