Dally M Predictions

hahaha s'all good Geo. Just can't see how the voters thought Michael Ennis is better?! He was as useless on Friday night as a screen door on a submarine!

now I got a Dogs fan on me on facebook giving me crap about Ennis and Farah.

Just gotta wait for another month and you can give it back when Robbie is on the Roo tour ahead of him

But seriously, Dugan, or Crocker deserved rookie of the year for me, I would even prefer Mortimer to Idris.

I dont know how the hell Soward won the Proven/Summons award (Isnt that award, for best and fairest?) after basically kicking Inglis and biting Ballin (i think it was him)

I dont know how Thurston almost won the award again.

As far as Hayne winning, well it can happen in any comp (Such as the Brownlow in AFL, Allan Border medal in cricket, John Eales medal in rugby yawnion) where a guy can be brilliant and by far the best in a handful of games and be nothing but crap in the others yet still win. Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos even said that about Adam Goodes where he has only been good in a handful of games but in those handfuls, he has been brilliant and will probably get maximum points which means he will be in contention, same goes with Hayne.

That will be the end for me. Surely Cam Smith will be first choice. If Sheens has his way Robbie will be 2nd choice. The closest Ennis should get to putting on a Kangaroos jersey is in the Rebel Sport change rooms.

How Robbie didn't get Hooker of the year is beyond me.

Its because he doesnt suck up to the media and became mates with all the journo's.

The journo's have gotta vote for their mate dont they! :deadhorse:

Dont you believe it mate, Smith and Ennis will still be playing for a few weeks yet. Barring injury Robbie is third choice.

so do journalists, players, or fans vote this in? farah beats ennis on points but loses out as hooker of the year - doesn't make sense.

What Mortimer has done in 6-7 weeks far outshines Idris IMO.

don't agree at all.. and Hayne won the Daily M based on 6 weeks yes 6 weeks!!! where the most consistent player all year Jamie Soward missed out because he got lots of 1s and 2s performances during weeks other dragons players were great where the parra bandwagon and medias obsession for Hayne at the time only talked about him in the Parra team.

To many people complaining about the bulldogs winning so many awards well they did finish 2nd from last spot and probably should have finished 1st 6 points clear.. mostly those people are QLDers or base the season on 1 week being last week and forget the other 25 rounds

The Dally Ms certainly need an overhaul. I am not saying this based on last night's results. I am saying it on the results going back as far as I remember.

It is ludicrous to give the award based on a 3-2-1 system. You have 34 players in each game, but only 3 players score any points. You may have 4 players or more playing out of their skin, but one of them won't get a single point for that game. Then you may have a game where nobody deserves any points, but someone will pick up 3.

They have to go to a system where every player is rated (eg 1-10). If everyone deserves a 10, give it to them. If everyone deserves a 1, give them that.

Tally up those points and the highest total at the end of the year is the winner. That will avoid the problem of people like Hayne who were nowhere to be seen in the first 2/3 of the season having a hot streak and winning everything. It will instead improve the chances of the guys who always turn up and play solid football every game.

Of course, there is still the issue of who judges the points allocated. A panel would be a fairer method rather than relying on an individual who may be biased.

That system would be 10x better. Benji wasn't even in the top 20 last night, and hes had some damn good games this year.

Journo's, Steve Mascord said on fox sports briefly about the Daily Telegraph and their choices.

He didnt say who voted for who but we all know which media company had a love in with Ennis earlier in the year.

Yeh that would be wayyy better, instead of having a panel, just use the refs, there are 2 on field refs, 2 touchies and a video ref, so thats 5 people casting their votes. Would be a lot better then one person from the media.

They used to give every player their ratings in the paper after a weekend of footy - your correct Juro, this would be a lot fairer.
