Damage you have caused whilst watching Tigers?

After watching another tense Tigers game yesterday (how rarely do we win by 30?), and reading some comments on the forum, it made me wonder about some of the damage people may have done to themselves or equipment whilst watching Tigers.

Personally I am not much of a thrower or smasher, I tend to yell and swear: sharp, short bursts. I try to diffuse my frustration when we lose, because I don't want to take it out on the family once the game is done. I like to watch footy with my Dad because I can vent my frustrations and he is succinct in his replies. I cannot hold a conversation with anyone else whilst the game is going, despite the best efforts of the women in my family.

My solution to mid-match tension appears to be sitting rigidly, hands clasped together so I don't swing them around or fuss. My wife took a photo of me during the game on the weekend, I didn't notice, but I was clearly clenching every muscle in my body. She told me I could "unclench my butthole" when the game was won.

So two questions really:
1) What damage have you done to things or yourself (or people) as a result of watching Tigers games over the years? The more outlandish the better.
2) How do you watch Tigers games? How do you deal with the stress?

Please no stories of beating up on your loved one or anything neg like that, this is supposed to be funny.

I attend all Tigers matches, so my furniture in the living room at home remains generally untouched.

I did snap the stick from my flag a few years ago after a loss. Car rides home are usually quiet - very glad we won on Sunday otherwise the 2.5 hour trip home from Newcastle would've been no fun.

At games I am pretty animated. Lots of fist pumping, jumping, giving the refs my opinion on their performance…

No violent or damaging actions this end. Probably bothered a few eardrums though as I am fairly vocal and active, whether at the ground or in front of the box.

U basically described me. Best it when the mother in law tries to talk during the game when we are losing arrrrrr

I see a cardiologist these days.

So that is probably the damage caused

I had a water bottle in my hand when Blair threw that dumb offload….

My GS4 was on the coffee table in front of me....

The bottle was slammed down with a furious force amid some language that'd make a wharfie blush.....thankfully an inch away from the fone. ..would've totally been routed

I also end up with lots of bleeding fingers where there used to be fingernails. .and migraines that feel like a railway detonator going off in skull

I was hospitalised last week with a suspected heart attack, as a result I'm thinking about claiming damages **against** the club

Not really violent, but I think my poor missus needs a new set of eardrums.

was at work when we were up against the rabbits this year.

was scheduled for a 15 minute break at 9… got a warning coz i stayed for my break watching the game till 9:30

Myself and my 2 now teenage sons are avid WT supporters. We attended the 2005 G/F and since then they have WT blood in their veins. We have been WT members for the last 4 years and watch all games we don’t get to live on Foxtel/TV. As you know I spend a bit of time in the WT forum and so do my 2 sons as we constantly discuss NRL topics and in particular the news around the WT.

My eldest (17yo) son has trouble keeping a lid on his emotions when a call goes against the Tigers, he is convinced the refs have it in for the Tigers and he always “talks to them” when calls don’t go our way…my son is always “talking” to the players telling them what they are doing wrong...I find this very annoying and am always telling my son to put a lid on his emotions and not to carry on like a pork chop as it’s just a game and his emotions are ruining it for him and us as well...the funny thing about this is I feel exactly the same way he does..but I show it in a more controlled way...guess my boys are growing up!..

the damage is the power you give the players - the time you devote to your heroes. When they lose you feel betrayed because they let you down. Your life is a projection of their lives. You have inherited them so to speak.
If on the other hand you keep this power and don't project onto them your own life's dreams, aspirations etc etc etc… then the damage will be minimal.
You are either a leader or follower. Simple.
Personally speaking there is no damage for me - rather I focus on what we need to do improve and make sure that never happens ever again.

I get so pumped especiaaly when they play eye of the tiger. I do remember that when anasta kicked that field goalnin the major semi in 2010 I was staying in port douglas and threw the remote at flat screen tv and it shattered. I was not drunk just so pumped after the dwyer hit. I was possesed like an animal

When Nathan Blacklock scored after the siren to win I threw a cushion in the direction of the TV. Probably the worst reaction I've had to a loss, luckily no damage done.

This thread is AWESOME…...great to see Im not the only one who losed it during games.

I have two similarities here with other posters...my breaks are WAY longer when the Tigers are playing and when Blair threw that pass i spoke language that was interesting to say the least.

I would be in gaol of anyone heard it.....thats why I dont mind watching the game by myself.

I was on the hill at Leichhardt that day and there were about 30 Ilawarra socks fans in front of me who copped plenty during the game from urs truely…...

Didnt I cop it after that try......i just had to smile and raise my beer as they hooted and hollered right up in my grill.

OUCH!!

when watching it at home… watching it alone is much better

Snapped a pair of 200 dollar oakleys after anasta kicked that field goal in 2010.

I usually have to take a dump before a game … ( the anticipation and nerves )!
Over the years have probably put my fist through the plaster board in my man cave 3 or 4 times . When I used to smoke ciggies i'd usually go through at least 10 during a game , that was when we choked in 2010 /2011 ... The expectations are lower these days now that the team is in a re- building stage . Now I just smash foxtel remotes !
