Dane Chisholm

Info recieved via people involved with the Parra side of things was that Humble signed a one year deal worth bugger all. The sweetener was first crack at number 1\. Some things have changed since then including Moltz staying. I guess we will find out early next year, but i think ( and it's only my personal opinion) Moltz will get the 7 , Miller will be refining his craft in ressies and Humble if he leaves the partying behind and gets serious will be our fullback.

Does anyone else think that signing Humble and now Chisholm means we definitely wont be seeing Moltzen at halfback?

Who signs a contract worth "bugger all" on an unenforceable promise of first go at 1st grade? Seems more like he was in no position to ask for much more and was looking for a shot at NRL football.

Small article in Zero Tackle.

Wests Tigers have signed French Test halfback Dane Chisholm after he scored a hat-trick against Scotland last month.

The son of former Manly Sea Eagles half, the late Rick Chisholm, Dane, 21, has played in the lower grades for the Melbourne Storm and qualifies for France through his grandparents.

He has been training the house down at Concord and could be a dark horse to replace Robert Lui.

I figured he was more or less a swap for Mullaney since both can play at fullback and in the halves. He'll have his work cut out playing FG at the Tigers.

I don't know mate. I'm just repeating what i was told. This was not a friend of a friend stuff. Some of them couldn't care less that he went, others thought it was a huge mistake to let him go. He has a problem with partying, not with his football ability. As i said earlier, we will find out next year.

I have it on very good authority that Dane Chisholm will start the season playing in the halves for BRET.

I remember this kid from the 2009 NYC Melbourne side. One game I watched him play he was simply untouchable and scored 5 or 6 tries. He seriously romped the opposition….great signing, great depth to have.

Maybe back up no 9,I know for a fact Sheens see that as a big weakness, hence the reason Farah played on one leg for about two months last year. just a thought as he has shown little interest in any no 9 from the lower grades in the past

I don't want to start to sound like a broken record, but don't we find it strange that we have two state cup side and an under 20's side and yet we still don't have an adequate backup hooker? If we have three lower grade hookers then surely at least one of them is close to NRL standard.

I noticed that Pat Politoni is in the NRL squad. He has wraps on him doesn't he? Do we still have Ndira for BRET? He has played first grade before and appeared to go well.

Whats the use in having two state cup sides if neither of them has an NRL level (or potential level) backup hooker? (Hope I havent hijacked this thread!)

Wests Tigers utility Dane Chisholm has travelled some miles in his rugby league career but is hoping 2012 will see him establish a permanent home at Concord Oval.

Chisholm has joined Wests Tigers on a one-year deal with an option after spending the past few seasons with the Melbourne Storm. He played five-eighth in
Melbourne’s 24-22 win over Wests Tigers in the 2009 U20s Grand Final.

A talented half-back, 21-year-old Chisholm can also play five-eighth and full-back. He is currently training with the NRL squad.

Born in Manly, Chisholm played his junior football with the Mullumbimby Giants on the NSW North Coast – the same junior Club as Wests Tigers half-back Jacob Miller and U20s utility Matt Mulcahy.

Chisholm made his NRL debut for the Storm against Canberra this year whereby he showed his utility value by playing on the wing.

He has also tasted senior representative rugby league, having played 4 Tests for France after qualifying through his grandparents’ heritage. Chisholm scored 3 tries in France’s win over Scotland in the European Cup qualifying rounds.

It is quite strange to see two guys from the same junior club fighting it out for 1 position at a NRL club

Yeah, unfortunately its the Mullum grubs!

Steady on HT - Being a Mullum lad, I take exception to the 'grubs'. Nothing wrong with the mighty Giants!

Hopefully he puts in and has a great year, probably mostly with BRET.

Miller will get a shot first with Sheens having shown faith in him earlier in the year.

Those few games plus a big offseason will see him ready to step up a couple of notches and make the first grade half spot his own.

He has a good kicking game, passing game and the toughness will come with more exposure to playing with men in the top grade.

Chisholm will want to have a big year to show he is worth keeping on for the future so all augers well for the WTs.
