From my experience I'd say complete opposite, my brother came up through the magpies system, oh and also is Tongan, got signed to Knights under 20s and with my younger brothers going through school down here my family could not relocate. Mr Bennett was kind enough to take my brother into his house for a few weeks until he found a family to take him in, he had nothing but nice things to say about him and was surprised at how much time he spent giving the under 20s advice and encouragement.
When we first came here I was very young but followed the Broncos until Wayne Bennett ultimately got rid of My favourite player Wally Lewis. Judging by demps logic, I had no idea Lewis was a poly !!! Either that or maybe Wayne likes good players with good attitude, or even talented players with bad attitude who he believes he can put them on the right path like that other Tongan willie mason .

I don't know how many times I've had to turn away from the computer screen in case the mouthful of coffee wrecked the screen and keyboard

But whether you have misunderstood what you heard or Bennett was taking the piss , he has the driest sense of humour I don't know

I just don't think Bennett is a racist and I have spent some time with him at a XXXX elite squad in the mid 80's at Tallebudgera on the GC

If he doesn't rate you , you find out very quickly but he does it in a kindly way

Totally agree. I'd absolutely love to have Vidot at the Tigers.

I like him , lacks a bit of speed but makes up for it with strength

Vidot is a realistic target.
He would fit in @ the club perfectly.

A young gutsy player with connections already at the club.

He is off contract at the end of 2015\. How easy is it for guys to get released of their final year on their deals?

With Boyd coming, Im sure they could lose a few more people.

Vidot could be our guy to squeeze Lawrence out of the back and make our backline top tier.

I work with Tom Learoyd Lahrs Uncle and a couple of years ago we got talking about Bennett as Tom Learoyd Lahrs started his career at the Broncos , i said to Steve " How did Wayne let Tom slip from his grasp " i asked? during that time he was in the State of Origin side when i asked, he said "Wayne never rated Tom as that great of a player". I said to Steve the Guy is a Goose anyway (Bennett) , Steve said to me despite how the media portrays Mr Bennett , Tom Learoyd Lahrs has nothing but high praise for Bennett he continued …...Bennett gets to know you on a very personal level and makes sure that your home life is in order , he also said that Bennett has housed plenty of Footballers when they are going through troubles in there lives and has housed Polynesian players when they have moved over from New Zealand and gets them settled .
Tom Learoyd Lahrs could of been bitter towards Bennett , cause Bennett never wanted him but for Tom to say that speaks volumes of Wayne Bennett.

Maybe you misunderstood something mate. I don't think Bennett is racist at all- as someone said before, islanders are usually off the cuff sort of players- something Wayne doesn't really like.

FPN is linked with Broncos. He signed Neville costigan and Jeremy smith and Leilua and Gagai. He gave them chances.

He might discriminate between player types and personalities but I doubt he discriminates between cultures.

Okay lets look at Neville Costign…

Wayne Bennett was the long term coach of the Broncos when Costigan debuts. Plays 45 games over 4 years. Is sacked by management for an off field incident ( not cut by Bennett). Moves to Canberra but then is signed by the Dragons the same year Bennett arrives (odd signing by a racist or an unlucky coincidence?). Well Bennett overcomes his prejudices to pick Costigan 42 times in 2 seasons. Despite this apparently Bennett's racism compels poor old Neville to move on again (couldn't possibly be the case of an in demand rep player moving for more coin, has to be Adolf Bennett again). Finally Costigan is free! But no Bennett once again becomes his coach! Oddly enough Costigan doesn't request a transfer and Bennett doesn't sack him. Instead he plays 23 games in 2012 and19 games in 2013.

So all up Bennett picked him 129 times which seems odd given he supposedly doesn't rate Costigan for reasons of race.
