Do you realise how hilarious this statement is considering where we picked up Mbye.

Signing Mbye was a mistake, for 750K insane...
However of Reynolds, Packer and Mbye, Mbye has been on the field doing his thing. Not providing 750k of value but providing something! Better then the ZEROS watching the game from the crowd and leaving early. We could have had both Morris twins for 750k..

Anyway old whinges. Considering some are saying Mansour, I would prefer DWZ to Mansour. See no reason to sign a back, particularly a wing with Momo coming back into our squad.

I always thought Mbye was on $850k at the dogs, and because he was reluctant to come we gave him $950k. He made Zero Tackle’s $1m players’ list when he sat on the bench twice for Qld.

I would give Mansour 2 years only not three if he wants three then see you later and only if we get Laurie it will solve our fullback problem for 2021 heavily subsidised year one and year two well we might have to pay 350k either way the second year is cheaper than nofo's 450k to 500k pocket the extra 150k for another player. If nofo is not here for 2022 then Mansour would take his place.

If it’s true that Nofa is asking $650k then he’s priced himself out of WT. I hope he gets picked up by eels and gets a combo going with Moses. I think we paid too much for Nofa ($450k) at a time when we had all our stars leaving and now it’s biting us on the gluteus because everyone with a sentimental soul , including Nofa, thinks he’s worth an upgrade. During the last 3 years when he was on $450k , Fox was on $350k. I still think his true value to WT is $325k plus a top up with vets and car of about $80k - $100k. You never no if you don’t ask? Someone was desperate enough to buy fox at $650k. It’s going to be very interesting to see how that unfolds?

He didn't get any of the 3rd party deal he brought with him when he played for us ..why he hates us so much

That was Bwaifs problem. 3rd party deal is supposed to be related to the player and not any club. If he had a proper 3rd party deal, it should have been portable and gone with him regardless of what club he was playing with, nothing to do with us.

That was bad business and a problem for him and his manager to sort out with the 3rd party.

Anyway, to be realistic, we should have signed him for the 3rd party deal only and no other payments other than that and then he would have been paid exactly what he was worth.

That is not how it works, it is not a payment to the player it is an addition to the clubs salary cap, it really is a misnomer as every single club in the game receives the same amount. So instead of operating on a $9.5m salary cap all clubs operate on $9.7m. Players may have the allowance listed on their contract but it really is just smoke and mirrors. Say you want to pay pay Nofa $450k, you may put it on the cap as $430k+ $20k LSA but you always intended to pay him $450k anyway so you can spend that extra $20k anywhere you like.

The amount of players that qualify may surprise many also, it is actually a developed and long serving player allowance, to qualify you need to meet one of the 3 criteria.

* 8 years in the top 30 at your club

* 10 years in top 30 squads across the game
* Developed at the club for 2 years prior to joining the top 30 and under the age of 22(off the top of my head and I think that is the age)

Not true,it is just that i dont believe in continualy criticizing one of our players who shows his passion on the field and continually makes more meters on the field than anyone else.
As for his salary 470k-480k would be reasonable for his next 3-4 years.

he does show passion for the club doesn't mean better players with better ability are not out there on the market to buy and doesn't mean we have to pay overs for him.

One very good year and some ordinary years mixed in his career agree he's a very good clubman but appears that someone is in his ear stroking his ego

hello Tigers fans, Souths have expressed interest in signing Nofoaluma as expressed in the news this morning however, it isn’t all gloomy on your guys end. Laurie and Mansour will be heading to you guys this year if Nofoaluma elects to take up the Souths offer, if he does he could potentially be heading there for the 2021 season.

Your team is also interested in signing Dallin Watene-zalezniak from the Bulldogs. He played his best football under Michael Maguire for the Kiwi international side. This signing is most likely for 2022 but nonetheless a good signing.

Not sure letting Nofa go early is worth it to get Mansour and Laurie. We’re getting Laurie in 2022 anyway and Mansour is a downgrade

As for DWZ he did play good under Madge but he’s been pretty average lately, he’s no fullback and not sure he’s that great a winger either

You have had an agenda re Noffo for a long time, you don’t like him. That’s fine everyone is allowed to voice their opinion, just own it.

No one will want to keep Noffo at any cost. 400-500k when we get the benefit of dispensation for his years of service is a good deal and an important one for our juniors.

Mansour wants 3yrs at 300k+.
He is not smart business even for 250k as best case he will spend half of the 3yrs in reserve grade. Alot of cap on a depth age player not one full of potential.

We get that dispensation whether we have Nofa or not.

The $200k long serving player is across the squad not for each individual player. We would still get the $200k even if every other player was making their debut except for Tamou.

interesting as some fans are wanting to give it to nofo to justify more cash e.g. 550k minus 200k long service deduction so effectively costing 350k for Nofo
But we could effectively use the allowance to upgrade Liddle or Simpkin ?



No they have not earned the long serving allowance so it could not be paid to either of them.BJ and Tamou would be ok but to me that would be wasting money

If we were looking at mansour 3-5 years ago it would be different.

His last game for Australia 2017, last for nsw 2016.

He’s certainly not that player now.

Ok so dropped after one series when nsw were ordinary and that was a long time ago now. He was serviceable for Panthers last year but we already took one of their ageing vets, don’t need 2.

I would give Mansour 2 years only not three if he wants three then see you later and only if we get Laurie it will solve our fullback problem for 2021 heavily subsidised year one and year two well we might have to pay 350k either way the second year is cheaper than nofo's 450k to 500k pocket the extra 150k for another player. If nofo is not here for 2022 then Mansour would take his place.

Mansour won't be at WT.

If it’s true that Nofa is asking $650k then he’s priced himself out of WT. I hope he gets picked up by eels and gets a combo going with Moses. I think we paid too much for Nofa ($450k) at a time when we had all our stars leaving and now it’s biting us on the gluteus because everyone with a sentimental soul , including Nofa, thinks he’s worth an upgrade. During the last 3 years when he was on $450k , Fox was on $350k. I still think his true value to WT is $325k plus a top up with vets and car of about $80k - $100k. You never no if you don’t ask? Someone was desperate enough to buy fox at $650k. It’s going to be very interesting to see how that unfolds?

I support retaining Noff for 500 (slightly above his value I think) but nobody is giving him 650, surely.
