David Nofoaluma #164

What are his off-field issues? He's never been pinned for anything illegal.

...doesn't matter now that he's going to the Storm. It's our loss.
Our loss ?
We aren't making the finals and can't even get a win without the ref's and bunker doing us over.

Storm will be there at finals time despite having a poor season by their standards.

And off field issue, is just whispers regarding ego and whatnot - already outlined by others.

I think you don't have to know him to see that the ego is out of control - great when your on top but when your not a smart man will reign in it. I can guarantee the after try staring down at the camera and gesturing will be the first thing Bellamy will tell him is not on at the Storm.

I gotta feeling it's the third...

Turned up to training hung over
Out at a wedding, drunk whilst injured/rehab
And whatever has happened now- I heard he hasn't even been turning up to training !?

And that's just what we've heard about, could be much more kept in house.
Yeah pretty sad really Demps.

Personally I think he is better than Toa, Kepaoa but you don't want players who provide negative impact on the team.

Yep our loss, he's still a top 10 winger. Watch the Storm cash in.

All the great NRL players have an ego and you can't be great without one.

Our club has been a challenging workplace for a long time and Nofo stood by us. I'm disappointed that we couldn't get our plan together quick enough to retain him.

Stuck by us.... lol.
He's one of the highest paid wingers in the game.

He's well compensated.

Do we get value out of him?
I would say no.

He isn't Brian To'o.

Man, Tupou is legitimate aye.
I see that Izzy comparison.

Much like Suali.
The prototype centre/winger of the modern game.

Like Izzy... Yoh Yeh.
X coates as well.

The best physique and height for that position.

Tupou can / will be a star.
I think he and naden offer something we haven’t had in a while . Size on the edges . I’d say his errors are experience based and once he settles , the nervousness will go away .
Nofa seems like a guy who’s been a big fish in a little pond , and has has been checked recently by a few Johnny come latelys , like Hastings .
It’s a real shame IMO . He really could and probably should , have developed into an Aus international , as he’s streets ahead of guys like Mansour , Cotric etc . He just never developed into the consistency of those guys where even though his highs were much higher , his lows were not just lower , but to be honest an embarrassment at times .
The Morris boys are the ultimate professionals even though for the most part of thier last 5 years they would have been described as serviceable . He just never seemed to get it . Like I said a shame .

What makes it worse is the comments of him refusing to shake Starfords hand and what @sly said, about him roasting young players to their faces and behind their backs.

Not long ago, he was a part of the leadership group & this stuff doesn't reflect a leader at all....

We've heard these rumours for over a year now that he's on the nose and players are off him.... his twitter fingers, blaming others for his mistakes. Only a week ago people were saying Benji and Sheens aren't impressed...

His opinion of himself really outweighs his actually ability.

10 years at our club. Pretty sure that counts as stuck by us.

Nofo has the experience that Brian is still learning. Remember that Nofo was there before, and he was also applauded.

You can't beat the value of experience.

Unlike others, I don't claim to know whether he's destabilising or a bad teammate or whatever BUT I think it could be good for him and for our young outside backs.
His finishing has been superb this season, but his dirty work has perhaps been the worst of his career. And isn't

He's hugely distabilising 😂
It's all facts. Bellamy is a
good judge, hope Nofa goes well

It's the same hearsay that Brooks gets.

Everyone has an opinion, mine is that we haven't and continue not to manage our talent.

His upbringing contributes
A lot to that, south-west sider -
House to house. His parents
Were tripping, his got the Samoan
Crest on his heart, he never forgot
where he comes from, mixed up
character I love Nofa his heart is in the right place. He'll learn from Bellamy thank god

It's interesting you bring up Brooks.

He and Nofo, the old guard.
Both could do with a fresh start elsewhere.

I think Nofo would fit in... with the city of Melbourne.
Not sure about the team/club though.

His behaviour and what he's dished up at Tigers over the years will not fly under Bellamy.

As you said, if he is all in... he could really take his game to another level under Craig.
We will see if it's just for the last few weeks of the regular season + finals or if it ends up being extended.

I actually disagree slightly with this . Not trying to be argumentative, but I’d argue his natural talent isn’t proportional to his ego . He is as talented as any winger in the world . Which is why It’s funny because if he was a student of the game and a true professional , he would be being spoken about as having to need rest from the origin period , yet he’s on his way
to Melbourne be cause benji and Tim said “you can’t have anyone good , but you can have Nofa” .

I take it back to Michael Jordan . Top 5 greatest sportsman ever . And the guy was an absolute animal . Never turned the switch off . You don’t get to that level without being that way . Benji himself didn’t realise this until it was too late , and he’d lost a step . But he did realise it eventually . Nofa doesn’t seem like he’s gonna get there , and will joining the BJ Leilua Retirment village for Shoulda Coulda Wouldas .

Either way,
All the best to Nofo.

Hope he gets something out of the experience with Melbourne.... if he comes back, it may push him to try and make the Tigers better.

If he doesn't come back, I won't be upset.
