David Nofoaluma #164

Lot of talk about what we are paying Nofo ?
Its not like decisions are made in the last few years
It comes down to a singular very bad decision back when DallyM considered him one of the best 2 wingers in the comp in the year just completed .
Someone decided maybe Pascoe that we better lock this guy up !
That being a 5 year contract 2021-2025; @ 500k pa .
Unless he breaches his own contract we have to pay him the remainder of his contract whether he plays 1st grade or not .
Always thought long term contracts are just dumb
Manly just locked up Olakuatu till end 2031 ?

So much talk about one player albeit one who's making his own headlines for bad reasons seemingly of his own making . This guy who played 17 games this year incl the 4 we won is not the reason we got the spoon . I assume that the marriage has broken down and some sort of divorce settlement will be arranged . The forum can then turn its attention to putting a team on the park that can score tries and win games . Cant see it with this roster at the moment .

What should we talk about instead ? Its a story that is a couple of days old about a long term player in the offseason when there isn’t much else going on…

Who said he was the reason we got the spoon?

He is in a team that competes in the best comp in the world , you would think he would be better than his latest drama , players bust there arse to get a go in the NRL , he is also getting a reported $ 500 k per year , most folks on hear may earn say $ 70 k to $ 100 k and have to put up with crap every day , he needs to pull his head in , get fit , and start smashing players at training , ready to come out round 2 and do some damage , sitting arounf winging says he is over it , move on young man or get with it

And after 10 years of losing if there’s still no hunger to (arriving fit is step 1) succeed he can bugger off.

I really hope it's not all as bad as it sounds... We need to remember we're only hearing one side and t that's a journo and we all know his reliable honest and sincere they can be.
Not surprising - it's a human trait - we all quickly latch onto something we want to hear so we have someone to blame for all the shit over the years... If we were talking about a fan favourite the journalist would be the one copping it.
He's been a forum whipping boy for years and there always has to be at least one of them... I'm really neither here nor there with him but do get frustrated when we know what he's capable of at his best but see all too often the rubbish he dished up at his worst

I just don't like the mob mentality pile on we are seeing currently... As others have said it looks like Benjis drawn a line which is good and I guess we'll see how staunch he is in that regard come next March.
I hope those that mange to get to watch them training can give us an insight into how it looks regarding him and his team mates... The way it's reported he's carrying on you'd think he'd be really on the nose with the rest of the squad

He should be setting an example at training as a senior player

For all we know he is, their has been so little info that has been given to us. It could be (i doubt it, providing an alternative storyline) the training methods are out of line, excess to the point where injuries/exacerbating injuries are the result. Nofoaluma as a senior player is the one calling it out. No action was taken by the coaching staff so he has gone to the union.
The above seems unlikely but would also fit the very little info provided to us thus far. It is just one of many possible scenarios where Nofoaluma may not be at fault here.
Point being unless/until further details emerge no point jumping to conclusions and adding to the pile on.

Nofo was at training today, however didn't complete the session due to a ‘leg' injury but did work in the gym.
Club insiders say Tueday's board meeting will be crucial to Nofos future.
The training staff are believed to be fuming with his actions.
If Lee survives, Nofo may too - if there is a coup then he is likely to leave.
There is still plenty of doubt as to whether he will remain a Tiger in 2024.

Does anyone else feel this is insinuating it is a 'so-called' injury? Not a huge fan of the player anymore, but feel this is pretty scummy reporting (although not surprised given it is written and published by scum).

The Mole post is really lazy journalism.

He could have an injury who knows & as if the review findings and actions will have a direct result on Nofa if it does we have even bigger issues than we thought.

First and foremost, before the club decides to offload Nofo, they first have to cut ties with Lee.
Lee was the brainless for extending Nofo on the ridiculous contract, by any means those 2 are very close. I guess they will both learn their fate tomorrow.
