Whare to next?

The Penrith Panthers might have some competition keeping Kiwi international Dean Whare at the club. The Wests Tigers have identified Whare as a potential recruit for next season and the signing of Ivan Cleary has only strengthened their chances. Whare went to the Panthers to play under Cleary, and given Penrith's salary cap position, the Tigers have picked an ideal time to target the centre for 2018 and beyond. It comes after the Tigers also made a huge play for Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, who this week committed to Penrith until the end of 2020.

Well the club is going to post it on the forum who they are looking to sign.

Personally never had any doubts that we should try and get this guy (thought so for the last couple of years).

With Cleary here now we are of course going after him and have a better chance of securing him with Ivan on board.

With 5 tries against us in his last few games, he seemed to have a mission to cut us to pieces, not that it would have been too difficult.

We need centres badly, although Suli should definitely be in the centres next season if not now. Whare would be handy. I wouldn't mind Tupou from the Roosters on the wing either. He would give Brooks a good target for cross field kicks.

I am hearing Whare will be signed for this year and Penrith willing to release when Mansour comes back.

Isn't Mansour out for a long time, he would need to come before June 30, that would be great.

tupou or Ferguson would be good additions to whare.

Gotta sort a couple of props out. Hopefully they get matulino and vete.

Would like to see them sign Lawton as well. That kid has a lot of upside.

Indeed they would, but are we talking to either one? I'd like to see the forwards strengthened next, that will hopefully be the key to Woods re-signing along with Teddy. The guys want to play behind a pack that can hold it's own and dominate, not get steamrolled each week.

I don't believe tigers are in talks with either at this stage lots will change in regards to off contract players in the near future though.

Wasn't one of the Lawton's related to Tim Sheens? If so, good footballing blood line!

Kane Lawton is Sheens' nephew. He played a handful of games off the bench for the Titans a few years back but dunno where he finished up, probably park footy.
Who is this Kyle Lawton fella?, have heard his name but no idea who he plays for

I would take Tupou over Ferguson, I reckon he would be a better fit here. In fact, Whare and Tupou are just what we need in the backs.

Along with McQueen in the forwards, Matulino, Evans and Glenn would certainly beef up the pack - go get em Tigers!
