Dene Halatau

Best of luck to Dene at the Bulldogs. This is definitely the best outcome for all parties involved. Dene's game has not progressed for quite some time and his form this year has been average at best, with some costly one on one misses hurting the Tigers. At least he now has his future secure for the next few years.

Good decision by all those involved. I'm not unhappy that he is leaving, but I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Good luck Dene.

Seems like a good guy and he had some great games for us. I'll never forget his play in the lead up to the 05 premiership.

Im not unhappy hes going but please tell me how the bulldogs are affording all these players.

I dont care what sums they come up with they are spending more then us on players. Are we just spending less then the cap cause we dont have the money or is it like it use to be the rich clubs get players they want.

I know about 3rd party agreements but surely that cant be the difference.

Maybe im wrong and i know the bulldogs arent the only ones that suss.

Its interesting isnt it. I told my mate who supports the Dogs he better look forward to losing more comp points next year due to the ammount of players they have bought.

cya Dean, all the best. Thanks for 3 months worth of good performances.

How about this one:

I'm glad and excited about our new signings!
**Although my focus is on tonite and the
next couple of weeks leading into the
semis!**Congratulations!

Kevin Moore, perhaps?

Another 2005 Grand Final player leaving…Dene thanks for the memories, your game in the 2005 semi final against St George is a standout for mine...best wishes at the Bulldogs!.

I agree, that is 5 players they have signed over the past 2 weeks who would all be on decent money.
They are only losing Eastwood who would of been on a lower salary as he was signed late and also pending his visa to the UK coming through.
We have signed a broken down winger, a gun junior player who struggles in reserve grade and a potenial good young back in Mitch Brown.
We lose Morris (who was on good money), Halatau (who would of been on a contract upgrade after 05) and Collis (who would of been on good money also).
I cant understand why players do not want to come to play for the tigers. We have the Australain Coach, a great training setup at Concord and we play exciting footy and have the best set of fans in the game.
I reckon we need to get this home ground issue setteled once and for all also. We have no home ground advantage (okay what maybe 5 games a year). WE need to be more ruthless in our recruitment.

Quote of the week. Look where we are on the ladder and look where the bulldogs are. Isnt recruitment a reflection of this? The positive feature of this lopsided acquistion of players is our juniors that are coming through the nursery. Who knows what could become of Simon Dwyer.

Goodbye Dene Halatua, thanks for the memories. A 3 year contract with the bulldogs is not a bad thing. Hope you win another comp but will it be as good as winning the 2005 comp.

Sad to see Kapow leave us. A great clubman and one of the most decent blokes you could meet. I know he hasn't been at his best for a couple of years, and the Wests Tigers where probably in the right to offer him a lower value contract. The Bulldogs must off offered him substantially more to entice him to Belmore.

Good Luck Deano.

EVen though he hasnt been at his best this year,I am a little sad.

To lose a good bloke like him who was instrumental in our 05 win does sting.

I wish him all the best.
