I hate that our team is coming third, so yeah I'm depressed too.

I'm all for Skando playing. I hope he goes out there and shows the knockers up. He is one of the clubs' favourite sons, let him have a go… He'll play with ticker and won't ever give up.

I'm pretty sure nobody here is knocking him…I love him, but the fact remains he should not be playing, it's 2010, FFS.

Anyone who thinks Skandalis deserves to play instead of Moors based on this years form is honestly borderline retarded.

Collectively, you're missing the point, which has nothing whatever to do with our ladder position. The point is that Skando, magnificent, honest, loyal and committed as he is, reflects the fact that we have had, for at least 5-7 years, a very poor planning & recruitment strategy in the 8 and 10 department. This is simply not arguable. Gibbs and Galloway are testament to that, the only light at the end of the tunnel being young Fifita. If our only solution is to elevate an honest journeyman, we have problems.

Consider the situation with Fulton and Fitzhenry in the mix and it's clear that there is little creativity, let alone thought in the medium to long term recruitment process.

Even a dud outfit like Canterbury can attract the likes of Hannant, Eastwood and Tolman. Even our friends at Penriff appreciate the space, width and opportunity that a Civoneciva can provide. We don't get it, our effectiveness in the first half of a set, inevitably lacks impact.

We're doing it tough for a 7 at the moment, perhaps we should give 'Chicka' Outten a ring?

I doubt that Skando will play FG but having said that, I don't see the problem with him playing, in place of anyone for whatever reason.

The bloke has never let us down, always gives everything he has and the one thing about Skando that really sets him apart is just how much he loves to play the game. The bloke has played this year and last for what players like those turds that jumped ship to other codes wouldn't get out of bed for.

For the record, I will never, ever be unhappy to see the name J. Skandalis on our NRL team sheet.

Except maybe once he hits 40….

That is all.

The selection of Skandalis and the message that accompanies it has nothing to do with our ladder position, it's a Recruitment/Squad management issue. I know the entire south west is in love with the bloke, but for god's sake when they coined the word 'journeyman', this is who they had in mind. Nothing missed here, on the contrary I'd say

Yeah but when you see good young players leaving to join other clubs when we have pensioners playing FG you have to ask the question why ? Loyalty only gets you so far. Skandalis selection is a joke and this is not directed at him.

Do you remember his first game back last year? What an effort that was? I expect nothing less and the enthusiasm this bloke will bring to the team will be something to watch! Tigers 34 Cowgirls 8, Thurston out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured spleen after being smashed by SKANDO!

I was told that Moors is not 100 percent fit has a knee problem and Sheens would rather rest him ..what i have heard is that they are starting to look at finals unlike other years when at this time of year they have to play injured players he wants to get the injuries right and have a crack at the semis i asked a friend at the club and he said they just want an old head who wont let the team down ….... I was also told that if Lui goes down again they will play Moltzen at half in the semis was told feeling in team very good and they think they have a very good chance to win the comp this was off the same guy who told me about when sheens was to resign and i posted on here a few weeks early than was any where else

Gower has already signed elsewhere.

You'd be happy for him to play NRL for us after he's signed for another club?

I'd be happy if he was sent to the Minto Cobras A Grade for the rest of the season.

And please, calling arguably our most loyal player _ever_ a pensioner?

I suggested that earlier in the Sheenannigans thread. It makes sense to me, bring the old hard-head up to get him up to speed in "easier" games as back-up for the semis.

They said two years ago that Lockyer, Price and Civonceva were pensioners… Look what they've achieved.
