Did anyone see anything on fox about Austin starting??

There is a rumour floating around that Austin will be playing round one…...apparently seen on fox sports news around lunchtime yesterday.

I didnt see it,,,all we have heard from Potter is about Anasta.

brooks played 77 minutes last time against the dragons and braith probably played 80 numerous times in the season.

He could be the starting no7,Brooks with one trial and a disrupted pre season maybe seen as a gamble. I see him as the no14, but I would not rule out him starting with the no7 on his back with Brooks either bench warming or playing 80 minutes in reserves.

Austin is effectively a forward on the bench…if/when he comes on mostly likely for Anasta at 5/8 Anasta will shift to the forwards.

I dont want either Anasta or Austin anywhere near the forwards…...especially if that means getting in the way of Sue/BMM etc who are big and can tackle hard.

And IMO u dont wanna be tinkering with ur spine mid game....moving1/6/7/9 is a bad move,Especially 6/7.

Austin and Anasta were both bought to play in the halves. Given the extra size and depth we have in the backrow this year it makes no sense whatsoever to play either one of them in the forwards.

I saw it and the presenter said that Austin will start at 6,but then they replayed the footage from NRL summertime with Potter saying Anasta and Brooks will start round 1,a very conflicting story.

And also given the training and movement in body type over the offseason (especially austin) it really goes against what they've been working towards to shift either into the forwards

it's all about specialisation, train hard at what you're good at and then do that in the game. No point trying to make teddy into a backrower!

Also, summertime was recorded a very very long time ago. Around xmas i think

I agree neither should be in forward pack. Especially Anasta, he proved last year he is not up to it. And I guess he still has to prove he is up to playing in the no. 6.

I'd prefer a bench of forwards, which would mean Anasta playing in 6 this game. Personally I'd prefer Austin but I think sooner or later he will get his chance anyway.
