If slater had of lost by 1 point tonight because he was "rested" how do you think slater would have felt!!! If it was me I would be pissed. It would cause more harm than good IMO!!
Bellamy would not rob his best player that opportunity without knowing it was already locked up!!

Wow, is it such a stretch to think that the Storm had the MP wrapped up and had nothing to play for, therefore, thought it would be a good idea to rest their 2 most valueble players??? of course it is :crazy Some people obviously just can't accept Benji may have been beaten fair and square, so they are letting their bitterness control their emotions
I guarentee if it were the other way around and it had been the Tigers who had the MP wrapped up, rested Marshall and he won the way Slater did, and had Storm supporters calling for conspiracy theories we'd be scoffing

My concern with the Dally Ms is that they have allways been fixed i stopped watching it years ago when Dave Fairleigh won it his pts got leaked out and people made thousands out of it ,so it does not surprise me that the dirtiest coach of the year pain in the arse(bellamy). Now i sat down to watch the DM last night coco and slippers on and it was the 1st time i had watched them since robbie got dudded you would all remember that last game of the year thurston had to get 3 pts out of there last game in tville well for memory he played 30 minutes the coach took him off they got beaten and surprise surprise thurston got 3 pts and beat robbie, so when the cheats were going up and down getting the Ms i thought rewarding the cheats for there season was a joke, my other [This word has been automatically removed] we are on a winning streak 8 games now can someone tell me how many pts benji made out of them please if he didnt get 3 pts for each game how come he didnt at least get 2 or 1 even just like cronk and slater were sharing there pts i think benji may have gotten 9 pts all up over the last 8 games and to me thats just wrong but Rugby League was the winner last night it was just a shame they had to showcase the cheats for it,hopefully the DM curse will stick with them only 1 player has won both the medal and gf in the same year 08 manly and orford.

I never said Benji was robbed!!! Didn't say the voting was rigged at all. Only questioned if Bellamy knew more than he should have and that's why slater was rested!! It's a big advantage for them having their stars rested, and if he didn't know slater was a lock, I believe would have played him!!!

Bellamy wanted to rest his players but no doubt had the prospect of slater winning the daily m in his mind. The decision was easy to make knowing that slater would win regardless!! To me, that's an unfair advantage. As mentioned before. What if Bellamy didn't know, slater plays and either gets injured or on report!

@Stryker, yeh uve got a point there, so are u saying they put Melbournes game in rnd26 the last game of the round on purpose, I think the whole bloody thing is some sort of conspiracy, cause I know for a fact they would not of rested him if it was before the manly or tigers game, and I also feel robbed with Benj, he definitely deserved 3 points against manly and not 2, and the 2 points against Penrith and not 1, and at most maybe a point against sharks, that would of given him a 2 point buffer on slater, not right

At the end of the day, Benji should have been a little more consistent and the award would have been his.
Slater is deserved of the award and along with Benji is one of the best and most exciting players in the game.
I would also think that Bellamy's focus would be on giving the Storm the best chance of winning the grand final, not ensuring one player secures an accolade for individual achievements.

Bellemy and Melbourne would not even considered the Dally M when giving Smith and Slater a rest, all he would be worried about is freshing them up for semies.
I think that Smith, Bellemy and Slater were all worthy winners. Captain and Coach awards are always a little contentious cause there is no clear criteria on what makes the coach or captain of the year.

I dont think it is rigged, but the judges get star struck and give points to some blokes when they dont really deserve it, I dont think that was the case too many times with Slater last night.

Take away the deducted points and he is equal with Benji and had the opportunity to poll in the last two rounds.
