Anyways back on topic

To the point our discipline needs to be better, that first half was a prime example against parra qe would do really well in trapping them inside there 10m, only to give away a stupid penalty and relieve all the pressure

Same against the warriors, we conceded 8 penalties in that game

And against the eels we conceded the exact same

We need to be better, if that was a better team they could of raked in 40+,, If Eels didn't make so many errors

Have you watched a team down the bottom of the ladder and thought “geez they suck, but they are so well disciplined”? Rubbish teams don’t have good discipline. Its one of the reasons they are rubbish.

Discipline is a tough one. Other team characteristics are easier to manage. For example it’s easier for young or inexperienced players to focus on moving up in a line in D, kick chase, aggression in contact, run hard and strong post contact etc. This stuff doesn’t require too much thought or personal control. Discipline is a finer point in the collective team effort, it needs smarts and ability to read and understand the game and the ref etc. Better communication on field, lots of talk from leaders might help.
Certainly it is a costly problem for us and must be improved.

I dunno. We got pinged twice in the opening 8 minutes for offside. They seemed just as early moving up as us and nada. I think it took 15 minutes for us to get one.
Also got nothing for Moses stripping the ball, holding down - not even a 6 again in that time. We can do some stupid things but at critical times we seem to be held to a higher standard than our opponents.

It didn't actually bother me that we copped some early penalties. It was a price we payed for moving off the line hard in defence, which is something I've been wanting this team to do for so long. With a bit of refining, I'd hope we can still move up quick, hit hard and just time it abit better.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the Magpies game. Madden bobbles the ball while attacking on Eels 20, it lands into, of all people Cini’s lap who runs 80 to score.
We were better overall before the bye round.
