Do we walk away from Musgrove signing?

For Sharks to be cap compliant don't they need to shed someone before the Newcastle game

So if Ava is happening it will happen very quickly

They got rid of Segeyaro didn't they?
Still wouldn't make any sense seeing as he signed after the cap problems.

They need to shed over 300 k , from what everyone has said Segeyaro was a 150 k signing and he needs to be replaced with a 95 k minimum wage signing which basically counteracts that deal

To shed 300 k you in fact need to shed 400 k to replace the outgoing player

Some good players in reserve grade Zac Lomax, Pulu, Rhyse Martin, Xerri, Saifiti.

No way Lomax or Xerri would be let go, they'll both get good opportunities this season. Pulu wasn't even named in their extended squad so unless he's injured he must be right out of contention. As long as he's recovered from his injuries from last year he'd be a very handy signing as a middle forward and a good replacement for Musgrove (looser defence but offers more in attack).

Is it confirmed???

Another yiungish prop in the squad would have been good.

Relying on packer and mats is ok for only a little whike longer

It’s only one game but I’ve seen enough in Twal, Mikalele, Aloai. Packer and Matulino are solid leaders and defenders. With Eiso and Clarke in Reserve Grade. I don’t think we need a prop.

Musgroves money and the reduced cap penalty we would have at least 500k and one player to sign. We have depth we just have to target a serious upgrade at 5/8 and move on from Reynolds/Benji.

Huh? We'd at most have about 200k left to spend this season. Not going to get too much for that. We were about 750k under the cap, then signed Jennings on 350k and had a cap hit of 350k. If Musgrove's salary was already factored in we may have a bit extra room but he wouldn't be on much, maybe 200k.

We are going to need to free up a lot more money than that for a better 5/8 than Marshall. Reynolds or Gamble.

Id be looking at a well priced, second row, outside back or fullback option to add to squad depth.

Ah, Yea. Like try and spend 1 Million on a position we have covered by 3 players(because hey, were going above $750K). Then realise no cap money for Brooks!?

The front row really attracts a premium. If were going anywhere this season we need to compete there. We can't keep splashing out for kinda first graders and get more and more DEPTH. Lets replace Zane with a player of his Caliber.
