Do you approach NRL players when you see them in person?

Nice thread. I generally leave players alone. Having grown up in regional NSW I do tend to get star struck because it wasn’t normal to see anyone from tv in real life. They are people too and deserve their space, especially if they are just going about day to day business.

My memorable experiences though,
1)ET caught me doing a double take at Sydney airport…we made eye contact: was very awkward lol
2)Brushed shoulders with benji, shoe shopping in the city…he was strutting around. Just after he left with the rugby jersey incident. Ignoring him seemed appropriate at the time.
3)after a million beers at Randwick I got a selfie with Robbie. He was only too obliging even after his mates were being impatient, he motioned for them to relax and he would catch up.

Luke Priddis came to our house once as one of his kids was doing their Catholic Confirmation rites with my youngest sister. I left him alone as he was taking it pretty seriously.

I never approach them if they're not in a club engagement setting.

About 20 years ago I took my son to Kingsgrove Sports to meet Sachin Tendulkar, who was on a promotional tour for MRF.
He seen that I had a camera and he asked if my son woulg like a photo with him, we were takenn into an office and had a one on one chat with him plus photos.
I couldn't believe how small he was, my son was always the smallest kid in the grade all through school and he was as tall as Sachin.
He was a ture gentleman someone that famous that would spend his time with a kid from the bush.
