Do you still disagree?

And all those people saying sheens should come back this is NOT the answer, eg Gibes, Faffita shipped out to make way for the" wunderkind" ,the over paid Blair, plus many more bad decisions , any one thinking that this is going to be a quick fix is dreaming . any staff that have any connection to sheens , should be moved on , especially Royce !! Potter should be given a chance to get his own crew on board , and should be judged accordingly after that, not on sheen's legacy!!

No it was always going to be a very hard season and I agree that Potter has been dealt some pathetic cards from that clown Sheens.

That being said, from all evidence on offer, Potter has actually made this side worse…not a small achievement. He is a nonce who had some success in a third rate comp...He has no idea about NRL and even less about how this side is run.

Yep. I expected a very tough year with lots of ups and downs. Thought we would finish between 10-12 with rebuilding for a crack in 2014 and 2015\. I had low expectations but somehow Mick can't even meet them.

I spoke to one of MPs best mates before the year started and he said he didn't have it. How right was he.

Lol Potter is doing us a favour. Eventually someone had to come and change the mentality of the side from that airy fairy bs toss the ball around and hope to win 30-28\. Sheens could have kept doing that til he died of old age and we would have made the finals 2 in 10 times and everything would have been status quo. To turn the side into a competitive side year in and year out that style of play will never work. Of course teaching guys that are conditioned to a certain style to play another way is going to be rough, very rough. Keep hating on Potter if you want but the only alternative was to remain the same and …

 Yeah that sounds like something someones best mate says about them. Pretty sure you were talking to the neighbour who used to toss lawn clippings into his backyard.

You are probably right Mac, but it means we have to get rid of the guy who the side was built around (Benji) because his style of play is chaos, and he is ordinary playing to a structure. Then if you take into account his defence, he makes Ross Conlon look like Trevor Gillmeister!

Bull Sh#T Black and White. Potter had bugger all to do with Benji and he has bragged all year about how he has concentrated on defence. He has somehow made this team worse. Bravo!

No disrespect, but grab tackles in the middle cost us, bar round one, our pack has performed. Bar R1, our pigs have been our saving grace, and backs leaking. If you cannot fathom that Benji performed tonight, getting ball in motion, which is amazingly co-inciding with his benching, then you are nuts. Benji wasnt just benched for his sake alone. Fulton wasnt an expense either. Blair was exposed, Woods as well, Pettybourne add him to the list. Alot of points were leaked on a break through the guts.

So what, kill Potter for spending his time with the backs to tighten them up? They proved it was worthy, more so throw Simmons under the bus for not making the forwards feel part of it. Next step blame players. Potter is long on the hate list regarding tonight.

No we just need to rehire the man who built this club from a pile of ruins.

If you are seriously suggesting Sheens should be brought back you need professional help.

Who built this squad? Who left us with no decent forwards aside from Woods? Who signed Humphrey B Blair and let Fifita go? Who let Marshall do what he likes for 8 years with no consequence? Who created a culture of mediocrity and zero accountability?

The jury is well and truly out on Potter and I can understand people questioning him, even if I think he needs at least 18 months. But to suggest Sheens should return? No. Just no.

Listening to the Ch9 commentary one of the comments made was about the rabbits pack being just too big for the Tigers pack. Yep we all knew that before the game. So why hang it in the forwards in hindsight?

We all know that a new coach is playing with a team chosen by the previous coach (carrying a huge number of injuries) and doing what he can to build structure and confidence and win games. We also know that turning the team around will take time. So why s#*t-can the coach after each game?

I saw many positives in the way junior players held themselves throughout the game against the current #1 team.

Also in the Ch9 commentary in about the 73rd minute Peter Sterling said something that I thought was telling (and I rate Sterling as about the #1 NRL analyst). He was talking about the number of starting Tigers players on the sideline due to injury. He listed several players and finished with they're "just short a halfback."

Interesting observation. For now, I'll stick with Mick.

I suppose the question must be asked "Has Mick Potter lost the dressing room". And if he has, how does he get it back?

It was good enough for Tim Sheens to be disposed of and I am wondering if Mick's tenure he will be short if cannot rectify it within a month..

a month? gee id hate to work for you if thats all your going to give him …... i dont like seeing us get flogged but give the coach and the players a chance.

it was a very good 1st place side againt a poor and inexperienced last placed side... result was inevitable so i cant see why some people are calling for the coachs head already (though royce needs to go)

have we had the same team 2 weeks in a row? cant be easy with different guys in and out every week

Let's blame em. Steve Folkes leaves, Royce comes in. Defence goes to crap. See a link?

This is a major fact we have not addressed this season!

1\. Sheens wanted to play touch football and win games.
2\. Potter wants basic structures with players who one on one are not good enough to provide the foundation to do so because of point 1.

Yet here is the funny thing we have the best juniors at junior level, but we just do not have the process in place to turn them into first grade players. Maybe we should be looking at the coaches who are successful in our club and turf the rest with the dud players! I would be happy if this process took 3 years and we showed improvement each year. Better than the crap we are going through now.

LOL

You need to have it first before you can lose it.

Potter doesnt gain respect by automatically gaining a job, its earnt like anywhere….but he needs to get a fair crack at earning that respect first - a decent support staff, his own players, a supportive board would go some way to that....then he may get a chance at having respect, THEN we might talk about him ''losing the dressing room'

Southerntiger your weekly potting of Potter is pretty unfiar in my opinion.

Sheens left us in a terrible hole. No coach in the world could currently be competitive with this side on the field. 9 players with 12 games or less, some reserve graders, Farah and a struggling Marshall. Sheens built us up and then knocked us down in the space of a decade. He did a great job overall however 2012 was poor and his roster decsions for 2013 left us as bottom 4 certaintys. Potter has Sheens players, Sheens coaches with 8 or 9 long term injuries. Its a perfect storm, and a recipe for disaster for anyone. Think about it….

* Signing BLAIR on 500K on losing Fifita
* Signing a washed up Anasta
* Signing useless players like Utai, Reddy, Pettybourne, Thompson
* Letting go of heart and soul players Gibbs, Heightington and Ryan
* Losing our most consistent and feared player Ellis

Don't get me wrong Potter has made some very questionable decisions. In regards to his handling of Miller, his benching of Farah and Marshall etc. He has made some rookie errors. However I don't knwo really how you can judge his coaching yet either way when he hasn't been able to make any signings, get his own staff or have anywhere near a full strength side. I will judge after a season and a half properly and i think that is fair. He is on a hiding to nothing at the moment.

This side will struggle to win again for another 2 months before a few come back. Are you going to come back weekly and bag Potter for not winning with 8=9 rookies and some reserve graders? Or look at the real issues at the club and come to the reality that a season like this was always going to happen sooner or later? Sheens would be thanking his lucky stars he got out, because with this current 17 his record would be identical. Throw in Bellemy, Hasler whoever, the team sucks at the moment. And that is because of one man, not Potter.
