Does anyone else no longer care? What makes you continue to show up?

Well do i CARE ?? great question.
absolutely i care unfortunately , but until they can get their house in order on and off the park i will NOT spend 1 more cent.
i have poured a lot of money into supporting this club and thank god i stopped doing this last year, will not watch them any more live or on t.v,
As it seems i use to care more about the team then they did. When they start to get thing right and that's a big IF i would be more then happy to start to support them again.
This club is a joke at the moment and they carn't see it ??

We have continued to be the laughing stock of the nrl , losing Richo has started the root again and the fact BENJI is not up to the job , we may not have the best roster but we should be sitting just out of the 8 not one of the bottom.
We need a experienced COACH for 2027
We need to some way of getting Richo back
We need to stop thinking that our junior players will step up , because over the last 5 years what have we got ,
So stop letting small light wait players fill our lower grades , have a look at the roosters there kids are all monsters
So unless a lot of things are not addressed nothing will change and in 5 years time we will be going through this again

"What someone posted in here about what James Maloney said about the club being rotten to the core CEO changed many times coaching changed many times players change many times and the same result
The only things that have not changed is the bad smell and HBG" Odessa

I still watch games when I can, or listen on the radio. Games used to frame my weekends. A win and it would be all rosy, but a loss, and my family would know all about it. Not any more. No point taking it that seriously.
Of my family, only my daughter shows any interest. My last game report; 'Only lost by three' got a 'Oh thats good' response. And thats where it is in my house, everyone EXPECTS a loss. A good game is only losing by a few.
Wests Tigers are losers.
Judging by our losing history, we cant blame the players, we cant blame the coach, we cant blame the CEO, all of those things have changed completely over time. The one constant is HBG. If we, as supporters, can connect those dots, so can players, coaches and CEO's etc, so dont expect change any time soon.
So much for the club, now the comp itself. After the totally inexplicable loss to the Cowboys a few years back, where Feldt milked a penalty and the bunker (Klein) made at least three wrong calls against us after full time, I started thinking, something is rotten in the state of NRL.
When they came out and said, 'yes it was wrong but too bad so sad', the NRL lost ALL credibility in my mind.
Of course they couldn't reverse the result. Why? If the game was played on a truly level playing field with genuine merit based competition, the NRL could have admitted it was their fault and awarded us the two points. That didnt happen.
Nowadays, if the weather is fine and no wind on game day I'd rather go fishing. At least there, the result is down to my actions, not an increasingly frustrating and bogus circus.

What really irks me is that the team usually gives you hope that things have turned around. You can't wait to watch the game. You begin to contemplate looking up if early bird final tickets have been released. Every time you see a Best And Less you have to peruse the merchandise section. You put up with arguments with the missus over your refusal to go out with the in laws because it clashes with the game. You are the one making the jokes about losers like the titans and dragons and your workmates laugh along with you instead of at you. You smirk every time you see lloyd xmas and hope his lookalike gets smashed on the weekend.
This euphoria usually lasts for about 7 or 8 weeks before normal transmission resumes and you move in to i don't give a rats mode. Luckily you didn't buy finals tickets, Best and Less have stopped stocking WT merchandise, you start having morning tea at the cafe next door to avoid your workmates, you curse that beanpole no 7 with the weird haircut under your breath and lie when you agree he is doing OK. Your missus still hasn't forgiven but you promise it will never happen again - at least not until next March.

Does anyone else just not care anymore? I used to base my entire week around making sure I allocated time to watch the Wests Tigers play. For the last couple of months I haven't been doing that. If I happen to be in the right place at the right time to see the game, I'll see it. Otherwise it's not that important. The same result as the Parramatta game on the weekend in another season would've left me devastated for the next 12-24 hours. I wasn't phased at all when they ran a try in with 3 minutes to go, in fact my reaction was laughter.

Wests/Magpies vs Balmain/Tigers
Where should we play home games?
Which players/coaches should we sign?
What should be done about HBG's ownership and governance structures?

These are all great questions which fuel a lot of debate. At this point I wonder though, how many of you still care and have a burning passion for it? Anecdotally it feels like there are less messages being posted on the forum year-on-year. The team lists used to generate 15-20+ pages each week, now lucky to crack 10 unless there was drama like last week. We haven't even bothered with the 3-2-1 threads.

I have only been a supporter of the club since 2010 and I'm already burned out. It's my understanding that some people here have been supporting since the 1960s/70s and that's just crazy to me. Not only has this club been awful for most of its existence, the two clubs it was founded on were also different shades of terrible for the longest of times (particularly the Magpies in the 90s). I don't know how you guys do it - continuing to come back for more punishment year after year.

It's not only the on-field results which bother me, we constantly have off-field stupidity happening which totally deflates hope for the future. The drama with the independent board and Shane Richardson resigning was a huge nail in the coffin for me. Our 5-2 start pushed that to the side momentarily, but it's back and those decisions show that this club is a totally unserious entity that doesn't deserve our time.

Just my two cents really. What is it that brings you back each week/season?

Like many people on here my loyalty stems back to geography, once upon a time most people followed their “local” team and having grown up in Tiger territory( Balmain) it was only normal to support them. The second part is loyalty, you “ stuck” to your team, through thick and thin.
