Does anyone think next years side will be better than this years?

I know it is just a predicted squad for 2016 but nrl.com have chosen the below for the tigers.

Wests Tigers: 1\. James Tedesco, 2\. Justin Hunt, 3\. Tim Simona, 4\. Kevin Naiqama, 5\. David Nofoaluma, 6\. Mitch Moses, 7\. Luke Brooks, 8\. Aaron Woods, 9\. Matt Ballin, 10\. Sauaso Sue, 11\. Curtis Sironen, 12\. Chris Lawrence, 13\. Dene Halatau. Interchange: 14\. Ava Seumanufagai, 15\. Joel Edwards, 16\. Manaia Cherrington, 17\. Kyle Lovett.

We finished second last this year and even with the young players improvement i can't honestly say we will be any better. No impact off the bench at all and our back row looks very light on for size. I understand the board and coach are cleaning house and trying to get rid of players but next year won't be much fun for us tigers supporters.

Next year looks terrible unless the interchange/ruck laws/interpretations have a drastic effect.

Lets be very plain honest. Outside of Woods and Teddy its an incredibly average side.

Backs look ok at full strength but we could cop some beatings up front. And that is where games are won and lost sadly.

If the 2016 side plays consistently with heart and purpose, yes, it will be better than the 2015 side irrespective of how many games they win.

I said in another thread we need some players to really kick on. I think Brooks & Moses need to turn into guns and probably Sirro as well. Its a big ask.

If we have rid ourselves of our "old boys club " mentality we have a lot of competition up for many positions , which will only be a good thing for the club

That word IF again though

They will be getting my avatar next year, they did deserve it this year since they did get done by Newcastle twice (that is the spoon imho).

No, I think we are looking at more of the same as this year. What we need is an aggressive forward pack that lays the platform for our backs - that are very talented but don't get the real opportunity unless the planets align as they did a couple of times this year.

yup, need a real premium 500k+ 2nd rower to bolster our side. would really give us an edge i reckon, give the smaller/inexperienced guys something to play off of as well as tightening up our defence.

ruck changes, shot clocks and quicker video ref decisions look to lighten players quite drastically though so you never know. Backs look solid, if our 2nd rowers adapt well to the new rules we could be in for a surprise (but in reality the delirium of not seeing the boys in finals for i dont even know how many years is probably catching up with me)

with the fan base split I don't think the players will be performing miracles - so disappointing and unnecessary. If the forwards can't hold up sort of what is the use. Just hope myself and others here are wrong. Reminds me of the magpies after Tom Raudonokis and a few others left.

We will improve we have lots of new faces and I think the buying of these players was like when we got Marty from the dogs , if they want a chance to play top grade they will put in and I and I would think most on here would be happy to see new faces in our top team if we are winning or just getting beat in a tight match , I think Edwards will go well and the 2 from Ipswich just may be the smokies that push all our other guys to there best , Ballin agian could be good for us but I am looking forward to seeing what cherryington can do he showed some good work last year with minimum time on the field , Sirro started to go well so I hope he keeps improving , the guns this year I think will be Teddy and Mosses
With woods leading the charge

Definitely Not.

Just the experience lost between Galloway, Richards, Taupau and most probably Farah….....your talking about 600+ 1st grade experience gone and who do we sign? A bit of this and a bit of that.
Ballin will be slower at 32 years old and coming back from an ACL.
Woods starts the year well but come Origin time and after it? He slows down, also alot more will be expected from him.

We get a couple of injuries to 2 Main players of our team to a good chunk of the Season and the Spoon is ours IMO.

If Taylor is sacked by round six we may have a chance, otherwise we are competing for the spoon.

May have a chance after losing your first 6 games? Yeah, we'd be right in the mix.

Depends if our Moneyball signings pay off. On paper though I don't see us finishing any higher than 12th and that is very optimistic.

I think that there will be no shortage of enthusiasm, and the team will do far better than expected. Some positions, will have gained " speed", and that in itself brings confidence.
After the trial games, and the Auckland nines, we will have a better understanding of how the 2016 season is shaping.

Love or hate him, If he is at the club RF needs to be in the side.

Marty is a massive loss in terms of Morale I think.

I respect JT for the courage of his conviction in making the decisions that no others have made over the past years.

We will come good, though 2016 is a spoon year for sure

I think that there is a good chance we will be better.

I expect Tedesco, Siro, Moses, Brooks, Noffa (who missed a lot of footy) and Simona (who carried alot of injuries) to all be better this year and start to live up to the potential.

We will miss the experience and "job done" performance of Galloway and the explosiveness of Taupau.
I expect Edwards will be handy defensively in the middle but we are going to need a young forward to step up, I will get shot down for this Im sure, but I see Santi as really working middle third player possibly filling that role nicely.
