Misquoted you mate. Damn app. I'm on the same page as you. And agree. His kick was poo today. And last week. And week before…

Let's see his general overall game stats today (from SMH)

5 runs for 26 metres - the lowest running game for any player except for Ava S (who had limited minutes)

13 tackles and 5 missed tackles - the most of any player

Maybe 2 good kicks in play.

Benjis kicking was fine today. It's a bit difficult to kick so well when you are basically your sides only kicker. You'll be pressured at every opportunity.

Kicking has never been his strong suit but overall it was a good effort today. A few booming clearing kicks and some good bombs that were coming down just in the field of play but some members of the forum are obviously forgetting them. If Sironen finds a way to put the ball on the ground he has another try assist v

Oh CRAP! You don't see Adam Reynolds, Michael Gordon, Aiden Sezer or James Maloney crumbling under the pressure of being their sides only kicker!! No excuses Marshall, you take on the extra responsibility of goal kicking, then put in the extra hours of practice to kick well on game day!!

he means the defense knows benji will be the one to get the ball on the 5th tackles, wont go any other way. so easier to pressure him.

Are you serious? Clearly I was in reference to general play kicking.
Benji misses 2 conversions from the sidelines and you want to jump him on that stat? He hit the post for one for Gods sake. This forum is getting ridiculous.

Apologies thought you were talking in reference to his goal kicking! In saying that his overall goal kicking is too unpredictable and does need some work!!!

this is why we need to shift sirro to the back row, 11 or 12 and brooks to 7\. But salary cap pressures and the fact luke is still so young has prevented us thusfar.

Next year will be a lot better in this regard with Brooks taking all long kicks along with farah and then benji/farah can coordinate inside the 20 for short kicks and passing game.

kicking is an issue..
but sirro to the backrow is NOT the solution.
not yet anyway.

Sad to say it, even Walsh's kicking game was better than Benji's. He really needs to work on them. The top teams all have pinpoint kickers, which puts repeats sets, pressure on opposition, etc. etc.. Also his goal kicking needs work. Alot of these games are going to be determined by those extra 2 points. We don't have that luxury….....On a good note, he found touch with every penalty we got!

for me the worst kicks are his grubbers that go dead from 2m off the try line with a massive gap in the opponents defensive line.

Now i don't imagine its that hard to just let it lightly toe off the foot and go anywhere within the ingoal, or slowly run dead.

Instead he gives our outside backs no chance because he belts it in.

Someone who went to the game told me they thought Benji looked overweight still. Anyone there to comment?

Looks like he's lost some weight, but, his arse still looks large

Benji should not be allowed anywhere near the ball when it comes to kicking in general play. He does make some great kicks at time and also has a monster boot when his timing is right - but these are too few and far between his ordinary kicks. And I think Sirro looks to be much the same.

I thought this was a reason why Anasta is in the team, especially for pressure kicks etc in a tight finish? Wasted kicker right there.

If Benji practices kicking… He is wasting his time.
Best off practicing tackling and leaving the kicking to the guys whose boot
aint allergic to the ball.

Benji Probably makes approx $1000 for every metre he runs ! Good money if you can get it but embarrassing for the club !

LOL, another benji hate thread.
OK his kicking game against the panthers was clearly not his best.
When I first started reading these kinds of threads I would think that people just didn't see the try assists, amazing passes and number of defenders he would mobilize. But then, when last year's stats proved how much of an excellent player he had been all year, and these threads still appeared, I realised that these are just attention-seeking threads. Take down the guy who is obviously one of our biggest assets just to look original. Considering our forwards aren't providing the best of platforms, I find him outstanding. But hey, you can keep overlooking his great stats last year, the fact that so many tries happen thanks to his vision of the game and that teams will mobilize so many good players just to shut him down. Oh and let's not forget what happens when Benji doesn't play…our attack is utterly toothless. Maybe his game has become too subtle for people who think NRL is just about runnung quick and hard....

Agree bill.

Benjis kicks were off on the weekend but he finally did what people want to see is lead the team, have a great passing game and had a try assist.. What's everyone got against him?

The last 10 minutes I have re watched a couple of times and benji actually kicked pretty well that long kick that went out just before in goal was pretty amazing, and had 2 more kicks into the left corner which were high and trapping them in there own 10m. Also his kick where siro got under it was pretty amazing. He seemed to be over hitting a lot of his kicks or hitting them sweetly.

You also have to realise farah takes 60%or more of our kicks prior to this.. Probably out of form and no practice.

As to goal kicking I don't see anyone else who can step in and so the job. With Richards in next year, don't see benji doing conversions.

Some of the comments on this forum are a disgrace. Your comment here sums up my thoughts very well. If I could give you rep points on the aap, you would be getting plenty here.
