DOG VERSE US IN SIGNINGS

Our we doing it right or wrong , just look at what the dogs will have running around next year in their forward pack,
tolman, graham, eastwood, pricthard, williams, kasiano, ennis. Not to mention what they have in the backs and they keep buying players, will they be done again for rorting the salary cap or are they just buying players at the right price. Are CEO and COACH maybe need to luck and learn, because iam not all that happy with what we have brought, eddy and bodene are fringe 1st graders at best, and we keep adding fringe players, what happened to the one big SIGNING WE WERE GOING TO GET EVERY YEAR that seems to have gone by the way, we got ellis then lote and then WHAT, then we get blair who is no better than home grown woods, who i think is better.

My thoughts are that Tolman was pretty much a straight swap for Ben Hannant, Greg Eastwood hasn't done much in ages, Pritchard is about to retire, Kasiano has been a Dog since he was 18/19 and Ennis has been there for years.

Graham we tried to get but didn't have the cash. Same with Tony Williams.

Not sure how they afford all those people. Then again we've got Lote, Chris Lawrence, Benji, Ellis, Blair, and Farah.

The dogs are going okay at the moment and they're recrtuiting well. I don't think our recruitment is as bad as you make it out to be apart from being a prop short.
 
At the start of the year we were favourites, means that clearly we ahve an excellent squad, and must ahve done a decent job recruiting.
The dogs have plenty of fringe players in their squad, like every other team in the comp. I expect Pettybourne to play in our prop rotation, he is a strong ball runner.

At full strength our pack is better than theirs.

woods, farah, galloway, ellis, blair, heighington. - five internationals and a rising rookie.
 
Tolman will be shopped around again,but many will baulk at his price which was apparently over the $250 000 when he signed from Melbourne.
 
The fact the Bulldogs are signing all these guys might be an indication as to how poor they were beforehand too. What, exactly, do the Tigers 'need' for next year? This is a STRONG squad, even losing Ellis. We've got Anasta, Pettybourne & Thompson coming in, and while Anasta is coming to the end, his experience & leadership will be invaluable. Thompson is a promising type, while Pettybourne looks to fill at least a bench role next season.

There is plenty of young depth coming through the ranks. Continual spending on players outside the club really only limits the playing time of the young guys coming through.

The Tigers don't need any 'big name' signings. They already have them on the roster.
 
wat we need is a halfback and a couple of props… people been saying that for a while though, dont see it happening

Put it this way, does anyone think Blair would be having this "average" a season under Hasler?

Players coast under Sheens because they can.

Coaches make a BIG difference. If Sheensy was the Dogs coach and Hasler was ours, we'd be top 2 and they'd be 14th.

I think that this is partially trollop. Blair is not a great player like Ellis. You can't go and make him into something that he isn't. Sheens has given him ample opportunities. He would have been just as bad under Hasler and he wasn't great for Melbourne. Sheens can't turn him into a great player.

Coaches can make a difference though and Sheens definitely seems to be struggling getting the best out of the squad that he has.

Crap Tolman is a gun, the only reason Melbourne is so dominant is because of C. Smith, that's all. Look at what Canberra did to them without him. Enough said.

Agreed, Coach has big say in how the team goes, Hasler has done great things with doggies but hard to say we would be 2nd and they would be bottom 8 if we swapped.
Blair did better at Storm then at Wests so in saying that, Sheens is not doing well

Tolman has had an extremely quiet year. Not bad in any way, just unspectacular. James Graham has probably contributed to that somewhat.
